Someone (not me) made WWOD aware of this comment, and he asked that his thoughts regarding this be conveyed:
"This is the dumbest thing, by far, I have ever read on AFF."
Just reporting.
of course, after reading it, I think it may possibly be among the more off base things I have read too.

Nope. You do not get off that easily, Elder. And also, you are so right about the number of churches I have been a part of. But, you know what, the elder I am with is the man who baptized me in Jesus name many years back. He welcomed me back, and the Lord is using me to bless and encourage saints.
BTW, I shall never put you on ignore. I try to do that only with spammers.

Most surprising to me was who it came from! It seemed so out of character for Pianoperson I wondered if he wasn't just trying to stir something up. I will have to ask him next time I see or talk to him.
I personally never thought of WWOD as the conservatices champion. He was kind of in his own world. I think the conservatives enjoyd a lot of his posting when it wasn't so verbose no one knew what in the dickens he was talking about but not as a champion for them.

Well, then, if baptism should only be done in Jesus name, and every one else is going to hell, then God was without a witness for almost 1600 years, and billions are now in Hell because, despite their faith, they did not have a minister do his work in pronouncing the name of Jesus over them in baptism. Sure.
No, Matthew, not this way you do not. Either we are saved by grace through faith, or we are saved by our works. One or the other, not both.
