In this area, my dear CC1, you may only miss the mark by 2 or 3 Churches! I have 8 in my city (Independent, home Churches, UPC, etc...) of just under 8,000.

Within 15 miles of me I have 15 or so.

I am telling you that the first Pastor who starts offering a 2% end of the year rebate back on the 10% tithe paid in is going to explode in growth!!!!!

This is the saddest news story I have read in a long time. Let's really pray about this.

coincidently, at the height of this ordeal, the other UPC church in town that was either 2nd largest or as large ? was going thru a major crisis of their own, I believe of a Doctrinal nature

We've already got one or two that are offering an 80% discount on standards.

Miss Jane,

It is indeed a sad situation for all. While compassion for the perp is admirable there should be justice also. He can be forgiven and make it to heaven but he still should have to pay the price for his crime.

In this case it appears he has cut a deal where he is only out six thousand dollars and no jail time. Of course he has the loss of prestige, reputation ,etc but he has kept his freedom, livelihood, etc.

The girls cannot bounce back so easily. They were not only violated they lost a set of grandparents in the process who chose to side with the perp who has now plead guilty.

This is not the first of this kind of thing in Pentecost. I know first hand of another situation involving famous Pentecostal names and remarriage to a sexual perp and the perp is a major member of a big Pentecostal church and is used in a leadership role by a Pastor I highly respect. I would like to think the pastor does not know the man's history but I have a hard time believing that. This is a situation involving a repeat offender who even if you believed his sins were under the blood once again you would not allow to be in leadership in the role this guy was in.

I hate this. I have always liked LT. I will pray for those girls and the entire family.

I think that is this uncle is guilty that he should get the maximum sentence for each case.

He has money and community standing. It looks like what he is getting is a six thousand dollar fine and parole. Doesn't even have to register as a sex offender. Unless the other County comes back harder with their plea bargain.
