LOL! Yes, I failed to clarify in order to see what type of responses I might receive.

LOL! I didn't watch the game, but my husband did. We didn't really care about it, but of course you have to pick a side and he hates the Steelers. He wasn't impressed with the commercials and skipped half-time (He asked me who the Black Eyed Peas were - lol). But, he did watch Christina because she was doing so badly. He came in to tell me she had botched the Star Spangled Banner. LOL!

BEP's normally "bring it."
I think most of the criticism is from viewers who got a horribly mixed end-product. I also think live music is the way to go for Super Bowl shows.
Why has Christina done the National Anthem so frequently? Who does she know? 2 games during the NBA Championships, now the Superbowl? Really? I mean, there's lots of singers that can pull it off. In Dallas, I would have thought a country group would have done it.

Lol! I missed it! But that seems like the consensus around here, that she messed up big time!

I think a lot of their problems were sound, and how they did the mix-just imo. I dont know if being outside in that big of an area loses something in translation. Fregi's voice sounded strained.

Ya, I actually felt bad for her but she did maintain her composer very well through it all.
.....and why can't we have someone who simply SINGS the song? Why do we need all this black gospel-like warbling to increase the total number of notes sung by 10x or more?

People kept commenting on her voice, but really, that intense, with music it probably would have sounded fine. It's like isolating a mic in a sound mix, it never sounds the same.

I agree. Vocal acrobatics are sooooooo out of style.
Add a little... if you CAN... but make it music.
I like how artists add their own touch to the music. But sometimes they go too far. Christina is not sounding like her 16-year old days.

Right, I agree. No one can sing it like Whitney Houston. She is a melody.
