Poor Ole Jesus - Didn't have as much revelation as Paul as He was living under another dispensation and didn't really have THE TRUTH according to Facial hair.
So now - Who cares that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ did not address ONCE - facial hair, beards, mustaches, goatees, cutting hair, trimmed hair, shaving heads, plucking eyebrows, finger nail polish, pants on women, make up, jewelry - oh wait now - just because he preached about putting a RING on the finger of the prodigal son - HE WAS NOT ENLIGHTENED! He was in darkness in another era!
OH - I see it now - It is coming to me - He was not Baptized in Jesus Name in your Pool and did not speak in tongues at the altar!
Lord have mercy - preachers doing their best to preach these extra biblical doctrines.

I agree with everything BUT your first sentence. I do think it is a personal preference. Facial hair...the appearance or lack thereof.....has no preference or acceptance in the business world. There are lots of men with five o'clock shadows, goatees, etc. I think those with beards keep it nicely trimmed and groomed. I think it is very rare to see the "Santa Claus" look these days.
Like you, I believe facial hair is NOT a sin. PERIOD. To try and defend it as a salvational or holiness issue is hogwash.

Hey, no need to lump all UPC in this - I dare say most are asolutely not of such mindset.

Um, hardly.
I don't agree with the author and his stand on this. I think it is pure ridiculous as he pointedly admits that there is no basis...then tries to defend it and say it is more about respect to the pastor.
I know the author's name. Hardly what you claim him to be.

How did he know you knew me? It was your church then I was going to go to in a couple weeks for some concert....but I hear it has been postponed.
|
Yeah. We were looking at some myspace places and I saw your pic and said I knew you and he said he met you down there.
Yeah the concert will be in June I believe. Kinda works out better because they have not finished getting fliers printed and passed out. I will be there..I hope. We originally scheduled it the day it was to be on so it did not clash with our mens prayer meeting. I think they changed it partly because my Pastor would not be able to be there that day and he wants to go. I will have to make sure they don't schedule it on the same day as our men's prayer...or maybe I will just make it a morning prayer that day...or maybe on Friday instead

CAN SOMEONE tell me why a POST has to go through an administrator before it can be posted?...Maybe I had a link on another thread that linked to organic foods, but why here? I was just citing some facts about colonial America and facial hair. I didn't read the rules here, LOL...Someone enlighten me. Have I offended anyone? If so, I am sorry. Am I going to be banned? Will this post go through?
