Just this week I connected with a man who I taught in Sunday School when he was a kid at my home church. I was shocked to learn that he has become a practicing Sikh, who has studied Islam for several years. He lived in Europe for 7 years, married an Indonesian and lived in Indonesia for 3 years where he became converted to Islam. He says something in his email to me that you might find interesting in regards to Christianity and the Godhead.

He wrote:

"I am married to a women from Indonesia and she is a Muslim girl. I do not nor will I ever have any problem with the REAL Muslims. They follow the ways of holiness just like REAL Christian people. I am not the Judge. I am only a light and if others see love in me then I will be asked what it is I have. I am one of those people who have objectively studied the Religion of Islam and the Prophet Muhammad and I do not find any fault in him nor of the religion itself. The testimony of Islam came to the Arabs at a time when there was no proper Christian witness. All of the West was under the feet of the Vatican and the Nicean Creed, but the Quran testifies to Jesus' virgin birth and to the Messiahship of Jesus and it says blasphemy is the doctrine of the trinity."

He said he was his Sunday school student and the guy left Christianity and one of his beefs with Christianity was the Trinity? I guess I just don't see the point of the letter perhaps nor the point in posting it here

Oh. Well I thought we're talking about trinity and oneness in this thread, no? Probably posted for the same reason lots of other posts are made. It's all a part of discussion Prax.
What's your point in making such a point of it? Eh?

I noticed that there was reference made to trinity and Muslims a little ways back so perhaps that's what prompted him to write what he did considering he just got this email from the guy this morning.

Anyhow, no big deal and I shouldn't have been so touchy. *sigh*

Sorry Prax.

Praxeas, I am beginning to think your av with the silly helmet is very appropriate for you. How someone can get from what I posted that I had taught this guy Trinity is quite a stretch don't you think?

I have quoted this guy stating "the Quran testifies to Jesus' virgin birth and to the messiahship of Jesus and it says blasphemy is the doctrine of the trinity." From this you have me teaching someone Trinity?

BTW, he says he is a practicing Sikh. His wife is the one who is a Muslim or at least she was when they married.

As to why I posted this, I just found it rather interesting that someone who grew up in a UPC culture would convert to Islam. I also found it interesting that the Quran says blasphemy is the doctrine of the Trinity.
