I have never had a problem with my kids about their clothes and we don't wear short sleeves. That make shopping interested to say the least.
When my kids see something they want the ask"dad what do you think?". I do the same "Hey kids do you like this?" We are close and do everything together.

No. I'm not joking. I used to cut pearl and gold buttons off my clothes too and sew plainer ones on. (Emma uses straight pins.) I did not shave my legs. I did not curl my hair. I took that holiness preaching seriously. If you really believe what all is taught that should be the natural outcome to some extent IMO. You can't preach against gold around your neck and then wear it as a button.

I wouldn't have for sure. I didn't wear gold hair thingy's. Or pearl hair thingy's. Not with gold or pearls, you know.
And that not with costly array thing. Most UPC women totally ignore that.

My wife doesn't wear the gold or silver things in the hair either. We take living for God very seriously.

Okay...it just happened to be your quote that I used....
But, the people that are on the extreeme edge of nonsense or that have no tact or critical thinking latch on to the ideas of those who do...and use them for a rallying cry and, "Yeah, you are saying exactly what I am saying or feel!!!" When, in reality, they DON'T have much in common...
Happens on both sides of the fence

Most people aren't that consistent. I took it very seriously. You either have to do it all the way, IMO, or view it different than it is actually preached. Now, I view the scriptures differently. I don't believe it is wrong to wear gold. I think it's wrong to preach against it and then wear it.
