To my knowledge I have never run anyone off the road. I have lived in the 4th largest city in the USA with major heavy traffic. I have notice the majority of men never signal they are turning. Big pet peeve for me. But I have never considered shooting them.
I know my BIL accidently ran a car off the freeway into an exit that he had not planned to take because he was in his blind spot.
I have been hit head-on by a drunk driver and nearly killed.
But I have never felt the urge to get a gun and shoot the poor drivers.

No excuse!
Carrying a gun is for protection - not getting even with stupid drivers.

What the shooter did was not acceptable. The purpose of a gun is not to get even with idiot drivers.
I am simply stating that I understand how this happens.
The guy who was shot is a victim of his own ways. He brought all of this on himself and I am supposed to feel sorry for him. Now I am supposed to demonize the shooter!
I am glad God spared his life. Hopefully, this incident will have taught this idiot driver a lesson in consideration.

You might not feel this way if you were the one shot.

Re: Road Rage at it Best - Good Grief!
Well, it seems the police have decided who the victim and suspect is....
"The victim pulled off the road at a rest stop on the westbound side of Highway 78, Kimbell said. The victim was eventually taken to Baptist-DeSoto Hospital in stable condition.
The suspect was described as a black male driving a tan Nissan Altima. Police are still searching for the suspect and his car.
The victim in the shooting has not been identified."

I would not use the phrase "poor driver", in the pitying way, to describe the drunk driver who hit and nearly killed you.
Driving someone off the freeway and onto the exit ramp is more understandable than the impression I got from Olive Branch, MS story.
I am glad you have never been made that angry.
However, I have been made that angry. Of course I did not follow through with the thoughts, but I understand how the thoughts can occur.

Re: Road Rage at it Best - Good Grief!
I'm a little slanted on this story because I deal with these drivers all the time.....and I'm talking about the suspect!
They drive like they are king of the road and drive to intimidate you!

But then, I don't make a habit of being an idiot driver either.
If I drive someone off the road, you better believe I would stop to make sure they were ok.
Why did the idiot drive the guy off the road?
All of this would have been avoided if he had just been a better driver!!! He is his own victim!!!

I think it's funny that you are assuming this guy is an idiot driver. IT could have been a complete mistake on the driver's part - - not something that he does daily and "needs discipline" over it.
If it had been me and I was upset that the driver pulled out in front of me - I would have written the license plate # down and called the police to keep an eye on him - - maybe it was a drunk driver, but it's not my place to shoot them.

I am glad that the idiot driver did not die, but I don't feel sorry for him.

Most states it is illegal to carry a loaded weapon around with you like that let alone shoot someone with it. He made a bad decision? So did that driver that he shot. BTW He IS a criminal. What he did is illegal
