One of the saddest things about the Palin Canidacy is how it is affecting the American home.
Just last week as bad as I hated to do it I had to confess to my wife that I have a crush on Sarah Palin.
What an amazing woman. If she only had a Southern accent she would be perfect!

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

A fair historical account of the Bush presidency will also report that Al-qaeda in Afghanistan, the real enemy behind 9/11, is as strong as they were before 9/11 occured. Plotting, planning and building strength seven years later.
The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said this week he "isn't convinced we're winning in Afghanistan" and "time is running out".
I can live with that. although there is an even wider context to place that into. but clearly this is part of the story.

On the subject of George W. Bush. It is certainly worth pointing out that since 9/11 America has not been directly attacked... and that is not because of a lack of effort by the terrorists.
GWB gets full credit from me for that fact. I firmly believe that History will be kind to him.
Exactly. I believe the long view of history will be much kinder to GWB than the leftist mass media and GWB hating left wing Democrats.
The American people have always had short memories though and GWB is paying the price for that. The American people don't give you any credit for keeping things from happening.
I wish they would go public with all of the foiled terrorist plots that GWB's actions have brought about. I know there have been quite a few that our increased surveilance and tactics have foiled once GWB undid the "wall" that the Clinton appointments had put up between the different Government agencies (FBI, CIA, NSA, etc) when it came to tracking terrorists.

There they can find plenty of fault.
I like her, I will vote McCain/Palin, but her integrity took a hit last night.
And, dear people, she is not Jesus so it is okay to criticize.
Seriously.
You would think we had blasphemed or something.
PP, I am not drinking koolaid and able to make clear political analysis even when it goes against me. You are dead wrong when you say she "struck out" last night. I have not heard that from even the most rabid libs.
I thought she did quite well. Charlie Gibson was hostile and demeaning in his approach. It was as if she was some school kid picked to be VP.
Of course she has limited foeign pollicy experience. No one says she doesn't. The point is that she is a quick learner, is decisive and makes good judgements, AND is the VP on the ticket not the Presidential canidate.

I really don't think she "struck out", but it wasn't as successful an interview as it could have been or should have been. She was tense in areas where she should have had relaxed, ready answers. And she was completely caught off guard by the "Bush Doctrine" thing, her answer was too vague, and CG caught it and gave her the definition so she could give a better answer.
Overall, I'd give it a 6 out of 10...maybe. It certainly wasn't as sparkly as her RNC speech. (But of course, interviews are a different dynamic.)

There they can find plenty of fault.
I particularly liked her answer about Israel's right to defend itself against Iran obtaining nuclear weapons.
As far as the question about the "Bush doctrine" goes there have been several different definitions of the "Bush doctrine" through the years.
There are at least four versions of the "Bush doctrine" that have evolved over the Bush Presidency. The latest being the "freedom agenda".
Charlie Gibson was just plain wrong to condesendingly lecture her that the "Bush doctrine" was specifically and only the right to strike preemptively.
