Soooo how do you approach the subject of alcohol with your kids? Do you teach them it is a sin?
We don't believe or teach that alcohol is a sin in our household. It's not uncommon for us to occasionally have a little wine with a nice dinner...or a romantic toast of Chardonnay between me and the Mrs. Last time I had wine was with an toast with my wife two days ago. Before that it was about two or so weeks ago on a flight in from California just to relax and sleep most of the flight. In our home it's more like a gift not to be abused.
But hey, she doesn't cut her hair, wear makeup, or wear pants. lol
No. My wife teaches them it is "crazy drink" to which the head of the house adds "...that Jesus made in his first miracle!"

I like it. I had a conversation with a friend of mine whose father was a pastor (and taught that alcohol was from the devil) and he was insistent on teaching his kids by example that alcohol could be enjoyed in a responsible fashion.

As a matter of fact, at that wedding, Jesus turned the water into wine. In those days’ young men as young as 13 years old would have been celebrating iand partaking in the festivities.

I'm I don't know where you went to High School...but they were pretty strict about the music they played at our prom.
To go to a prom, I can see no way that it would be alright.
Worldly music, very ungodly dress, dancing, and all the other ungodly things that go on. I know what they said about prom when I was in school 30 years ago and I was from a very conservative town. I'd say that may only half of those who could go to prom did, and they certainly were not all Apostolics.
I know that around here there is no question about it.
