Re: When Will A Respected and Influential Leader S
In reality is been there brewing and growing right under our noses. With the emphasis placed on standards giving you "holyness" or "making" you righteous and clean - it was only a matter of time before this, and other ludicrous doctrins worked (are working) there way out.
Hsa 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
Lack of true saintly knowledge would be the key... I must confess- myself included, there are WAY to many uneducated pentecostals.

Yes, but we have seen those in leadership OPPOSE those other forms.
Even with Divine Flesh, when there was some desire to work with those that held the position, the goal by the leadership was to bring them out of it, not to leave them in it, nor to allow them to evangelize it among us.
with Magic Hair, you dont see ANY opposition from ANY leadership. THIS is what I fear. This is why I think it is dangerous.

Again, I dont agree that Standards are a problem. lazy preachers who dont teach standards, just demand obedience might be.
But I have always been in the UPCI and I have never been taught that standards provided holiness.

Again a laughable defense against the indefensible. No Mark, we are the ones saying have a Berean attitude and check spirits and doctrines to see how they line up with the word of God.
I would be embarressed to post what you just did. Measuring doctrine, books, sermons, actions, etc against the word of God is not being "judgemental". It is fulfilling our duty as Christians.
Some things are a matter of opinion or preference. Others are a matter of hererey and the magic hair doctrine is heresey.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Now you are on to something! One of my fears is that some who do believe in sound doctrine will chuck it in their disgust over this. We see that all the time.
