Daniel,
You and I probably have more in common than CS and I, but you are off base here.

No... I am not a pastor or an evangelist .... I have been a pastor's kid for about 30 years of my life ... my dad was a district Presbyter and national leader in Spanish ministries ... he confided a lot in me ... I've been involved in some type of church ministry for many years ...including a licensed minister for 2 years .... I'm sorry if you think that does not qualify me to opine in this thread but I think I have something to offer ... since we both agree that fees should not be charged by evangelists
Respectfully,
Dan

For the last 1-1/2 years I have preached somewhere different most every weekend. Not one time have I ever specified what I must be paid or set a fee.
All offerings are good. Some are just bigger than others. IMO, there isn't a preacher worth his salt who does not give an offering back to the pastor/church every now and then. I recently returned an offering to a church because I felt led of the Lord to do so. This was before I even knew waht the offering would be. to this day I have no idea how much the check was for. I do know that within a week I recieved the greatest financial blessing I have ever received in my life.
If a preacher has to have a certain amount he probably needs to rethink his motives. Thus far I have walked by faith and have never seen God fail me. Been done wrong by a few pastors but the blessings so far overshadow those times that it would be ludicrous to even dwell on them.

I have a friend that sends 10% back to the church of whatever is given to them. I thought that was pretty cool!

LOL! I am just glad that most of them take the offering before this old dog preaches.
