I do believe the story of Adam and Eve would back up your statement.

You gotta be kidding me.

Can you imagine me telling you that you aren't saved unless you wear a shirt, tie, dress pants, and fancy shoes everywhere you go???

And this thread isn't about men commenting about women wearing distracting clothes, but men who comment more on women's standards than the women do. Some of them are plain obsessed. I can't imagine being on a men's dress standard thread and commenting about them the way men do about women's standards. I mean, what do I know and what do I care??? Don't I have enough to take care of with myself??
Did I say that!?!?!? HO, good grief!! You are reading into what I'm saying. Whether you agree with the standard thing or not, that has nothing to do with some men who are saying things about women holding to standards. If I or another man honestly feels like it is a salvation issue; why would you care that he is saying anything about women and their standards? Besides, this discussion isn't about standards, it's about what men think women should wear, and their intent as to why we as men should say anything.

My, aren't you the observant one. Would you rather that someone cared enough to say anything at all? Would you just prefer men to keep their theology to themselves? Sheeeeeesh!

No it isn't, and that isn't fair because it means that men aren't allowed to express their opinions, which of course they are. I tell my husband on a regular basis which clothes I prefer that he wears. He calls that nagging; I call it helping.

Well, I am pretty much a rebel, I admit that. When my husband gives me his opinion, I usually tell him that I will "take it under advisement" which is code for humoring him but doing whatever I want.

But granted, I am married to an Aspie, and neither of us claim to be believers, so we are operating under a whole different set of rules. So I can admit that things might be different between two neurologically normal partners of a Christian persuasion

My husband doesn't tell me what to wear, either. e.g., "give out orders." But since I love him, I care what he thinks. It has nothing to do with a "Christian persuasion."

You can if you want. It is HO that has a problem with the intent of men, which to me, is coming off as a bit judgemental right now.
