So true! It's like Bill Clinton quibbling over what the definition of "is" is. Have we been reduced to this? Why, in the name of ALL that's holy, can't we call things for what they are?
By the way, can any "this is not an organization" WPF'rs explain this clause in the WPF articles of faith? "c) The Executive Chairman of Worldwide Pentecostal Fellowship may not be a member of any other religious organization except WPF."
What does this mean? I understand that all of us non-WPFers are too slow witted to understand that what is so clear to the rest of you, how an organization complete with all the apparatus of the UPCI, AofG, SBC, or any other organization is not an organization.
But this little article, for one, has me stumped.
NW Pastor, me thinks you are too funny! Why does everything have to be a conspiracy?
Logically, it would make perfect sense to bar the Head of the WPF from membership in any "organization." If the purpose of the WPF is as they have stated, to promote fellowship with like minded brethren without regard to organizational affiliation, then for their General Chairman to hold credentials with someone else could potentially cause disunity.
If I left the UPCI because I felt it had went liberal, and I was looking at the WPF as an alternative, and found out the leading man was a member of the organization I just left, I may not want to join. However, if he is neutral, then no one can accuse him of favoritism to one group or another.
Secondly, if the General Chairman of the WPF could belong to an organization while serving as the GC, he could potentially allow that organization to influence the direction of the WPF during his leadership. JMHO
Concerning the list that has been posted, I know several of the men listed and have known them for years. I have sat under them in revivals, camp meetings and conferences. I am not a minister but I know these men to be God fearing men of honor and integrity. The Word says we are to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling. If these men see or even suspect that something is going on in the UPCI, what right do we have to question them and their congregations if they want to leave the UPCI and start another organization? If they adhere to the doctrine of 1 God, repentance, baptism in Jesus name by immersion, the infilling of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tounges and living holy before God: aren't they then brothers of faith, no matter what they call themselves? Heaven is going to be a shock for a lot of people who think they or their organization will be the only ones there.
As far as someone saying that the UPCI will welcome make-up and jewelry on the platform...some already do. I left a UPCI church last year where the pastor's wife cuts her hair, wears make-up and jewelry, and sees nothing wrong with working in the church flower beds in shorts. The praise singers and musicians on the platform would fit in at any Las Vegas show. I took my family and left when they started allowing their youth leader to teach my son that how you were baptized didn't matter and standards were things you set for yourself and had Sunday School teachers, who didn't have the Holy Ghost, teaching children that the Holy Ghost wasn't necessary. There are only 3 women in the church that haven't cut their hair and only about 10 to 12 that don't wear the make-up. A board member's wife left him because of his drinking and abuse. When the woman went to her pastor, he told her to stay with her abusive husband. Why? The only reason I stayed as long as I did was because this is the church I grew up in. Where is the UPCI and why are they allowing their minister to preach and condone these actions. Complaints to sectional, district, or national headquarters go un-heeded with the remarks, "Well, its his church, he can run it as he sees fit." Funny, I was always taught the Church belongs to Jesus. I and my family now attend a UPCI church where the pastor preaches the doctrine and and the standards of Holiness and tells his congregation that if he changes the message then we have the right to leave.
I pray that the UPCI never changes the message I grew up hearing but if they do, I and my family will leave and go where ever we have to in order to be saved. Whether it's the WPF or the ALJC or an independant remains to be seen.

Please don't think that I don't believe what you've written, because I do. I am just amazed that nothing is being done by the district or headquarters in regards to the claims that are being made about the pastor and the church. If he's a licensed minister, I am surprised that they are allowing this to go on. As far as the church, if it's affliated then they can step in. If not, I'm not sure how that would work.
I'm glad your family has been able to find another church that you like. That does make the situation a little more bearable I'm sure. Prayers!

I registered with AFF because I was looking for wholesome fellowship. I will be deleting my account immediately as I do not wish to get caught up in a web that spins into bashing, judging, or critizing. I just thank God that no matter what organization or fellowship a person may belong to, there are men willing to stand for thier convictions in spite of being persecuted by thier peers. I believe everyone of these men are my brothers in the Lord and I pray for them all.
Can anyone help me? I do not find an option to delete my account.
just don't come back. it accomplishes a similar result. but it keeps you from slamming the door on the way out.
