Questioning is not bad. But when you do see and witness God working through the Holy Spirit and you identify it as such get involved! Sometimes the "real" is not in the lights... "...Pure religion and undefiled before God [mother] and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction..."

wasn't my intention, but there are some things I have been questioning lately myself and some of the things you listed like people speaking in tongues on command, and the fact that many miracles today seem to be more on the side of being things hard to verify unlike those in the bible are part of things I have been questioning

we didn't see the Apostles commanding folks to speak in tongues, just a thought

Hope I explained myself ok as I am horrible at explaining myself

Stop apologizing and denigrating yourself, you are explaining yourself just fine. Your opinion is as welcome as anyone else's. Post on!!

It's OK Nightowl, that's why I started this thread.

I do think it's important to balance the criticism in ones own mind with other evidence... the 120 did speak in tongues together in the Upper Room.

There is instruction for speaking in tongues in 1 Cor. 14.

I am not a cessationist, nor do I promote such a doctrine, however, I do think it's important to voice our concerns on the inside of Pentecost. It's far to easy to dismiss criticism when it comes from the outside - and it's automatically assumed to be an unfriendly attack.

I am a firm believer in the Old Paths

Articles on such subjects as "The New Birth," will be accepted, whether they teach that the new birth takes place before baptism in water and Spirit, or that the new birth consists of baptism of water and Spirit. - THE PENTECOSTAL HERALD Dec. 1945

"It is doubtful if any Trinitarian Pentecostals have ever professed to believe in three gods, and Oneness Pentecostals should not claim that they do." - Daniel Segraves
