That is actually an excellent way to restate "I don't trust God."
"I trust God with awl mah heart" is really easy to say; more difficult to do, i guess.
Los, you are an awesome person, and seeking, you will find. The problem is, possibly, that being raised by Christians, in America, your expectations are completely whacked. This would not be an issue if you were just playing at Christianity, like most do--but you are not. Therefore, every inch of skin will be flayed from you. You are doing fab, ok? Stop having expectations, and you might even be happy sometimes; but see that maybe you are looking for Miller Time, possibly, when it is only like 4:58.

I keep you in my prayers.
So the Bible doesn't mean what it says. Of course.

Ha, you nailed it. The Bible is divinely inspired, and written in such a way that an unbeliever is confounded--and even includes this explanation. Not wishing to compare myself with Scripture, but a reaction similar to Bryan's (O.o) must be expected. Any new information that has not been assimilated by a person, me included, is going to sound ridiculous on its face.
That expectations are what bring grief to a person is not even debatable. I got Script for that if you like, B...and for Timmy; I'm pretty sure Alistair Crowley made the same observation?

A great example of evil, there. A real god has no need to fool people with such games. The task of fooling people is way easier than all that. But the people on the side of such gods DO need devices such as the evil you describe. Of course, since your god does it, it's okay!

Well then wadr, i would be calling me out on the Scripture quotes? Perhaps i phrased that poorly? It is a pretty evident concept in Scripture, stated plainly.
Once again, any concept that you are not personally familiar with, that does not verify your preconceived notions (mine too) will sound like nonsense at first.
(non-sequitur subject change)
You cannot find God with your mind; even if you were twice as intelligent as Einstein.
