BTW Has anyone heard about gov now giving people cell phones? Not sure if true but recently heard about it.

For a family in America consisting of a mom a dad a teenage son and a teenage daughter the necessities would include:

a 3 bedroom house (state laws pretty much requires there to be a bedroom per kid when dealing with kids over a certain age).

Other than that they would need water, electricity, a vehicle, food and clothing.

Does this pretty much cover all the necessities?

EDIT: I forgot one necessity: a telephone for emergency services.

Yep and I think it is a great idea! They give them very limited minutes and anytime access to emergency services like 911 on some of the cheepest made cell phones possible. I knew a girl that had one of those phones at one time. She was a stupid druggie. She had 2-3 kids.

Just another hand out to be abused. nCell phones are not necessities. After while we will be paying for folks cable bill.

Being able to contact emergency services seems like a necessity to me.
