First of all - your bulletin in RED above is misleading at best. Read your own fine print. Wilson is said to have voted to allow a mere $250,000! of federal money to be used to help cover some of the expenses local hospitals incur by performing the federally mandated chores they have of providing health care to anyone who shows up.

Under our current federal laws (and most states) - everyone and anyone who shows up in a hospital presenting symptoms of any illness or injury MUST be treated. Until 2003, they were treated at the expense of the local hospital and its paying base of patients.

After "Sec. 1011" - the over 5,764 registered hospitals in the United States can now split $250,000 to cover this otherwise unfunded federal mandate. That's $43.37 per hospital.

Besides, what do you care about health care? I thought that you were one who refused to "limit God..." Why don't you just show up in the hospitals of America and heal all the sick and injured - legal, illegal, terrestrial, extra-terrestrial... everybody? "I'm always amazed at the boundaries that you put on God!"

And for what it's worth... less than two weeks later and Obama himself has come right out and said that he did "lie" to Joe Wilson, the Joint Session of Congress and everyone of us:

Wow, sensationalist much?

The article you posted says in the first line "President Obama said this week that his health care plan won't cover illegal immigrants, but argued that's all the more reason to legalize them and ensure they eventually do get coverage."

But hey, I can see how your need to fear/revile Obama causes you to pull "Obama himself has come right out and said that he did "lie" to Joe Wilson, the Joint Session of Congress and everyone of us" from that.

I don't think EVERYTHING concerning the opposition that our President is facing is about race.

However, I firmly believe that parents pulling their kids out of the classroom during the President's speech was nothing short of bigotry shrouded in politics.

The "liar" comment was completely out of line and demonstrated a level of disrespect that I don't think would have been demonstrated had a white person been elected.

Gentlemanly civility and general repsect for the office of the President took a turn for the worst during President Bush's terms-- but he and his advisors made far-reaching bad decisions repeatedly to help fan the flames.

Our current President hasn't been in office long enough and hasn't done damage to deserve the disrespect he is receiving.

Two wrongs never made anythinig right.

Gotta get back to work.
With all due respect, President Obama has had a cake walk compared to the nasty vitriol that George W. Bush faced. Close associates of our current President actually accused GWB of playing an active role in carrying out and covering up the 9/11 attacks.

That's nasty. And since it came from a group of predominately black men, I guess we can assume it was racist as well?

What made Wilson's gaff "appalling" was that he was heard above the "roar." It's common in these sessions for the party in opposition to the President to murmur loudly and grumble load enough to be heard on over the microphones. But both partys (at least since the invention of the microphone) have always tried to orchestrate the "noise" so that no single voice is ever heard above the din.

I remember being horrified by the apparent disrespect that Reagan was constantly shown. That is, until I caught on to the way the game was being played - and it's a game, no matter who's side you're on.

That's where Wilson failed even his own party. He would have been much better off just yelling "Rhubarb! Rhubarb!" or "Rabble! Rabble!" That way it would have been a "voice" in dissent, but just part of the background noise.

And the President did lie. There was just the "complexity" of a blanket amnesty to illegal aliens that he failed to mention. If he had added that part during the national speech - then Obama would not have lied. As it stands this morning: Obama lied.

He lied to you Jermyn.

Obama: Legalize Illegals To Get Them Health Care
Speaking at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute.

Sweet political maneuver for him. LOL! Listen to his commitment to education, all the while, denying vouchers to the students in Washington D.C.

Wow, read past the first sentence much?

Second sentence:

"He also staked out a position that anyone in the country legally should be covered - a major break with the 1996 welfare reform bill, which limited most federal public assistance programs only to citizens and longtime immigrants."

Does Twisp have a point? What's the President talking about? And what's with the "legally" qualification here? Where's he going with this?

Third sentence:

"Even though I do not believe we can extend coverage to those who are here illegally, I also don't simply believe we can simply ignore the fact that our immigration system is broken," Mr. Obama said Wednesday evening in a speech to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute. "That's why I strongly support making sure folks who are here legally have access to affordable, quality health insurance under this plan, just like everybody else."

I'm using "Light's" fonts for the fun sensationalism!

Fourth sentence:

"Mr. Obama added, "If anything, this debate underscores the necessity of passing comprehensive immigration reform and resolving the issue of 12 million undocumented people living and working in this country once and for all."

Now, either the President is fixing to deport the estimated 15 - 20 million (maybe closer to only 10? Who really knows?) illegal aliens - or he's getting ready to move on something that he was discussing at the (exclusively Democrat- no Republican Hispanics have ever been allowed to join - just as Mel Martinez [R-FL]) Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute.

Help me out Twispy - will Obama announce a plan of mass deportations or a blanket amnesty? Which do you think? And, when he's done - they all get taxpayer funded health care benefits. Just the opposite of the scene he tried to described to Joe Wilson.

Yes, I did read past the first sentence. He did not say he lied to us all in either pages of the article. If he did, please show where he said that. If you cannot, please admit that you misspoke.

The article is about how to deal with the illegal immigration issue. There is not a logical, feasible way to deport every illegal immigrant. Since that cannot be done, we need to somehow deal with the illegal immigrants that are here while improving security at the border. Once they are legal, then they would be allowed to get health insurance. Either way, illegal immigrants would not be covered. Now, whether that would be considered amnesty or the only solution available is another debate.

The push to legalize illegal immigrants started long before this particular health care issue arose.

The Presidents words to the Congress - the gist - was that the Federally funded "public option" would not be used to provide health care for those in this country illegally. Joe Wilson, being privy to the various plans, schemes and programs of this admin then made his infamous outburst.

Today it is reported that the President does have a plan to provide federally funded health care for these same illegals. He just has chosen not to call them "illegals" and has announced an initiative to take care of that.

President Barak Obama lied to a Joint Session Congress, the American people and to you Twisp. You just don't seem to mind. No big deal.

I believe it when my wife tells me I still look good without my hair. We all say things to try and help the ones we support. It's just my wife's "little white lies" don't cost $10's of trillions of dollars.

There is a "logical" and even "feasible" method - but it would not be politically feasible. Comparably, more native Americans were "bussed" out of their homes 150 and more years ago (when compared as a percentage of the overall population). Given the improvements in the transportation infrastructure, moving 12 million (the President's number) wouldn't be so bad... not so bad for those not being moved, of course.

Look at how Nazi Germany "deported" 6 million Jews... it can be done - but it's inhuman and horrific.

But let's be upfront about the real options. Let's not play one game to create a National Socialist Health Care System (a nazi- style system) like the one the President proposes and Hillary did before him. And then let's not play another game for incorporating our 'guest workers" more closely into our society.

The question of providing health care for the "12 million" (whatever number!) illegals is what Joe Wilson was hollering about. It's the point of the whole "You LIE!" debate.

Jerm, it's not only parents that don't want to hear his drivel, but there are major networks that refuse to interrupt regular programming to put him on instead. I doubt it's got anything even remotely to do with his race.

Some people are just to dense to get the point. Some horse sense would help to go along with the so so education that they claim to have. The Texas congressman voted to cut funds to the DC Metro then has the gall to complain it wasn't up to par for his wants. Now most 2 year old children understand that this guy is a hypocrite but maybe you are not yet 2.
