As for Managers, I couldn't agree more.

For what it's worth.....

I believe in the Oneness of God, and Baptism in Jesus Name.

But deep down inside I really feel like we put a limit on Gods Love, mercy and grace. I don't belong to a church and haven't for years. I'd like to find one. But when I did I was strugling to see the love of our God....the one who died on the cross.

They would say, "Man am I glad to get out from under this Napoleonistic atmosphere"!

If you were to try and reach someone who is leaving your mothership.

Are you sure these comments are the Godly approach?

I don't think so...

Much of the UPCI that I have live for the past 40 plus year was cultish.

Plain and simple.

It was control through fear and pressure..

Which by the way tears down faith.

Since faith is personal and we are not called to fear.

I understand the entire UPCI thing.

I have family in it and out of it.

It is a 2 way street.

I could careless what standard etc you hold to...

If that is your place then fine.

Just get of your god soap box and stop opening the trap door to hell.

Everytime you see someone go to another church etc...

I have no issues with past pastors or people.

No healing needed......

That didn't happen. Anyway, I could never forget about God, and it was only His love, mercy and compassion that I am in church today (UPC) I still don't fit the 'mold' and some people in church openly tell me that I am doing everything wrong since I trim my hair and wear a little make-up, but now I'm like a duck--I let the remarks roll off my back. My pastor has never been negative toward me in any way. He's the greatest! He has said from the pulpit that he is not our police but our pastor. All I can say is that it is between me and God now. I don't worry about what others think of me.

From some of your posts, I have sensed a lot of hurt and anguish. Who am I to judge you? I have never walked in your shoes but I understand. I only wish you the best in whatever decision you make. Just never let go of His hand.

I agree with all these posts, and disagree with this one:

Please notify me when this is a therapy session and not "contending" for the Gospel. Rhoni has hurt miles deep, and has been open about that. Meekness is not weakness. These "wish you all the best" and "you're still saved" remarks are more damnable than anything else. Love is not always a back rub and free massage. Sometimes it's (thanks John McCain) STRAIGHT TALK!
The most hurtful ones are the ones by Amos and Lady Coonskinner, and even 20/20Vision who would presume that their definitions and knowledge of the scriptures give them the right or authority to pour salt into already open wounds.

The hugs, love, and "Dear Sister" remarks are the most hurtful because they are the least sincere and the least grace & love filled. What you really mean is "Rhoni - take your hurts and go elsewhere because we are tired of your bellyaching"!

Is this a play-by-play instructional on how you should be treated? If you're wounded, come to be made well, not to start fights using words like "cultish".

Dear Rhoni, what is it that makes it acceptable for you to call people cultists, but not acceptable for them to object?

Where is your sense of fairness?

Now you are going to blame the victim for not being healed by you and others like you...You are too funny!

This is what she said about her pastor:
Quote:
My pastor has never been negative toward me in any way. He's the greatest! He has said from the pulpit that he is not our police but our pastor.
Meaning her pastor lets the Spirit do the convicting when it comes to things that aren't outright declared to be sin or unholy. He has never reprimanded her for wearing a little makeup or trimming her hair. So she is not being stubborn or rebellious to those that have the rule over her and are watching out for her soul. The ones with the problem are other saints in the church that want her to tow a line that she doesn't feel God has drawn for her.

I hope I got that correct, Martha.
