I assure you, if the left takes control, you'll hear plenty of criticism from me when they go extreme.

Antipas, just curious (and off topic) are you Apostolic or other?

Pressing on is the only one that's kept the faith. The others have a defeatist spirit

Re: Prophetic Word about the Election

I have a real heaviness in my spirit about this election- I do think we are living in the end times and we are seeing the unfolding of prophecy that we have heard preached for many years. Our faith will be tested, but God is in control.

My point is that the early church was a microcosm of Christian society. A Christian society would reflect their values, especially in the area of social compassion and economics. Even the OT shows this. In the OT we had Laws REQUIRING land owners to allow the poor to glean their fields. We had a poor tithe that REQUIRED that the storehouse be full for the widow, the orphan, the poor, and the needy. All of these were the laws of a NATION. That means...the GOVERNMENT instituted by God Himself. A form of agrarian social system for those that were most destitute. It wasn't voluntary. In fact God promises a curse upon the entire NATION for neglecting the poor tithe and in Amos because land owners deprived the poor and the widows of their rights to glean.

Meanwhile, "Christians", in America sit back on their holy high horse while the elderly struggle to buy the medication they need. While the poor can't afford to see a family doctor early before their condition becomes life threatening. You see, you're rhetoric is easily said...it costs you NOTHING...meanwhile people DIE. How...holy....of you. God DEMANDS social justice regarding he weak and the poor.

Mark- What do you think Prop 8 will do? Will it pass or fail? Bro. Haney was at our church yesterday and he asked the church to pray for the election and Prop 8. He did not sound optimistic.

I think things are looking up for CA as far as Prop 8.

The tide turned when we had a lesbian school teacher take her 1st class
to watch her marry her lover on the court steps in San Francisco. Parents became outraged over this.

CA. is a little more conservative then people give it credit for. San francisco and hollywood have unlimited wealth though ( like Obama)
so it's hard for the rest of us.

With Obama you will get a rerun(albeit magnified 1000 times over) of the Jimmy Carter years. And you got to get out of this left/right paradigm way of thinking of yours......it is delusional. With Obama all your getting is a change of the bird cage liner, a facelift so to speak, nothing will change in reality(except it be for the worse. I'll say one thing though, with an Obama regime there will be alot more REAL praying/intercession going on.

They were a microcosm of a Christian society as governed by the Spirit. A Christian society may not do exactly as they did....but it would reflect their values. I firmly believe that the early church wouldn't allow for a widow to have to choose between her food and her medication that she needs to survive. The right wing conservative types would. Jesus doesn't know them....
Matthew 25:31-46
31When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
32And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
33And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
34Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
36Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
37Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
39Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
40And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
41Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
42For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
43I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
44Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
45Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
46And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
The right wing conservative's problem is that they would sit by and watch thousands die of treatable illnesses and disease due to being uninsured and call it justice...yet if the government intervened and saved their lives they'd call it a travesty. To the right wing conservative these undesirables don't deserve to live if they cannot pay in cold hard cash. And the price can go up exponentially every year...the right wing conservative doesn't care as long as THEY can afford it. It means more service and less waiting time for them. It's a godless social Darwinism born in Hell and will be paid for by fire.

I've served as the United Way liaison in my department and I have a regular deduction taken from my paycheck as a donation to the FoodBank and Dressed To Work, two charities focused on provision of food and the provision of clothing. And....I pay my taxes and don't whine about it. And as long as I pay taxes I have the right to specify what I believe our tax dollars should be used for. I'd much rather provide a widow health insurance than build a bigger smart bomb to more efficiently kill more Arab children.

The best answer I have for you is that they aren't as gullible as to believe the lies about Obama that you have. There's reality and the right wing tabloid propaganda. You choose the right wing tabloid propaganda. They choose truth. Obama isn't a Muslim. However, Obama does desire to see peace between Israel and the Arabs. While you might think they both want war without end...the truth is that the average Israeli and the average Arab also wants peace. No one wants to see their children blown to shreds.
