I think there's a good argument for Christians being "otherworldly" and not even meddling in politics...ALL devotion should be strictly on advancing ONE Kingdom....the Kingdom of God.

Maybe Satan has divided us....no one ever agrees on politics 100% of the time...so politics divides brethren....look at all of us bashing each other here. In addition he divides our focus, our resources, and our efforts between advancing the gospel and advancing a party's agenda. All of this weakens us....we're not stronger because of it.

I'll still vote....but I can see the point from those old school Christians.

Brother, the Kingdom of God is already here. It is righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. Should we not lift our voice in this present world?

We are endued with power from on high, to not use the abilities and tools given us by the Spirit is to stick our head in the sand as an ostrich.

When Jesus entered the temple, and overthrew the tables of the money changers, was He not addressing the greater of the evils present?

Many of your questions deal with higher taxes and tax issues in general. In case you've not been paying attention, your beloved Republican party has become fiscal liberals that can't get enough of my money. Oh they won't charge me for it right now, but they'll write all of the hot checks and then let the Dem's try and balance the budget AGAIN ala 92-2000.

A Republican talking about high taxes and being fiscally conservative at this point in time is a laugh brother.

No brother, it's not a laugh. President Bush has been a huge disappointment in being fiscally conservative.

BUT, the republican party is still the party of lower taxes.

Just ask Congressman John Linder.

Well at least we can agree on the fact that Repubs seem to enjoy tax cuts and slapping themselves on the back for lower taxes. However, for the most part haven't lived according to that budget, along with Democrats, on the spending side. Thanks to ALL of them this country is in debt to the Chinese and other foreign investors.

Low taxes are great except for the fact that as of today you and I are now responsible for paying back $ 9.5 trillion dollars. http://www.brillig.com/debt_clock/ That's a huge hot check considering we would have had a balanced budget as of 2001. Someone has to pay that off and most likely mine and your taxes will have to be raised to do so.

I think you're not understanding my point. We are Christians. Yet we are pointing to the world and raising our voices saying that the Republicans are the answer. Hello....we need to go to the voting booths and overthrow those tables proclaiming that Christ is King.

Neither the Democrats or the Republicans are the answer. Each have good ideas for various issues....but neither is capable of solving the real problem in society....sin. That can only be done through a relationship with Jesus Christ.

I was talking to a good friend of mine who is a die hard Democrat (I'm a union man and he's in my union). Well, we got into discussing the Bible. I was really sharing a lot with him and he said, "I could never be a Christian." I said, "Why?" He said, "I'm not nor will I ever be a Republican." Bro...a lot of folks don't realize this....but people in the world hear us and what we say about politics and assume we're just cloaking our Republicanism in religion.

We have to speak out against Sin. But we might do well not to speak out in a way that leads so many to think we put our faith for real solutions in earthly political parties.

I don't know how much you make, I make $18.36 an hour....and Obama's plan will cut my taxes. Bush's plan really didn't do anything but shift tax burdens...my property taxes went up to fund programs that the Fed was no longer funding. Then factor inflation....

I'm not sure where this is headed, but let me say once again for the record that I am not a Democrat and have never voted Democrat. I am not a proponent of any candidate. My only problem is the lip-service that certain politicians pay to certain issues to blindly insure support while avoiding any accountability or pressure to deliver results by those core constituents, The same is true about the Democrat candidates who can blindly rely on the Black vote while delivering absolutely nothing. It is a travesty and it defeats the democratic nature of our political process.

I am not an Obama supporter, BUT you went way over the line of good taste and decency. You should apologize to all.

I have read some horrible things that people have said on AFF---but my friend, have moved the bar to a completly new low. If I were admin. you would be gone.

You violated the rules of AFF by calling 1399 an "idiot" and you implied Rico is stupid.

My friend, based on what you have written, you have no space to question the mentality and intelligence of anyone.

You need some serious psychological help.

To ChTatum

I forgot to add, PLEASE do not reply to me. After reading your dribble on this thread, I do not care to EVER READ anything that you have to say even if it were an apology. Sometimes the best thing you can possibly do is just walk away. That is what I am doing to you........Look at the Hand.
