Yeah... I'd say that this is a phenomenon more associated with those "others" other than men. Except certain catagories of men. For example:
A good man might keep the blinker on because he intends to use it again. Knowing that his next turn is the first right after the highway junction that comes up in about 20 minutes would cause this fellow to avoid the unneccessary movement of constantly turning his blinker off and on every 20 minutes or so. Such a conservation in blinker wear would add up considerably over time.
Also, a conscientious male automobile operator my leave the blinker on just to spite someone who may be sitting in the front seat next to him. After being told for the fourth or fifth time that
"the Hendersons live in the Pine Valley subdivision!" (or wherever), a reasonable man might simply choose to leave the blinker on for a good 10 or 15 minutes just to show his intention of turning into the
Pine Valley subdivision this time and not
Oak Valley like he has on the last several visits to the Hendersons.
There's a reason behind these things. You just have to know the whole story. Like how Hank Henderson had boasted that he would buy a place in Oak Valley as soon as the sewer lines went in but never followed through thus causing a man to wonder if the sewer lines had ever been installed, thus necessitating what only appeared to be an absent minded detour through the
"wrong" subdivision; which was
not a detour at all but an attempt to ascertain the progress of the new development.
So you see, Lady Rev. was simply mistaken.
