Re: What's for Dinner Tonight?

Tonight I am grilling a Basalmic marinated steak. For sides we are having seasoned sautéed green beans with Basalmic and roasted root vegetables.

Re: What's for Dinner Tonight?

My sister sent a loaf of hot, homemade bread over so we went out and picked some Basil and made fresh pesto to go with it. Then we added way too many rotisserie wings to the mix and, Wallah! supper is done.

Sounds quite nice.

Last week Stop & Shop had beef tenderloins for $6.99/lb. I bought a 7/lb one and sliced it up into steaks. Am grilling 3 of those up tonight, with just dome salt and pepper, little bit of garlic and will melt a pat of butter on them.

Baked potatoes and corn on the side. Simple but good.

Re: What's for Dinner Tonight?

Today, Eddie cooked a Ribeye on the grill for him, and Tilapia for me! It was the first time we've ever done fish on the grill and it was SO good! He doesn't eat fish, unless it's fried catfish - none of the healthy fish. But I love it and eat it at restaurants all the time, but had never cooked it. I put a little spray olive oil, lime juice, and basil, onion powder, garlic salt, salt & pepper and it was amazing!

We also had fresh sweet corn on the cob, baked potatoes and fresh cucumbers. Yummmm! I love summer time!

Cracker Barrel's pretty good, but overpriced, IMO. Have to pay for the ambiance. To get really good "home" cooking at (most likely) a decent price, you probably need to find a little Ma-n-Pa type place. The kind that only locals know about. When you find one of those, you've got it made!

Re: What's for Dinner Tonight?

We were supposed to go to my BIL's for ribs. But it turns out he's stuck on a job in Massachusetts. So I'm thinking maybe I'll run to the grocery store and grab a couple of steaks for supper. It IS Memorial Day, after all. Is it cheating if I drive thru Wendy's for the baked potatoes?

Yes it's cheating. they are way too easy to make in the microwave then wrap in Al foil to be worth cheating...
