You mean you never had a Steve Austin action figure or Mr Stretch? LOL
The coolest gift I got was my first cassette recorder -with a packet of 3 60 minute tapes in my stocking.

I see that no one has responded to this.

Help the poor? Oh my lands, what are they to do for the rest of the year? This is almost as funny as Randy Wayne's Fisher Price toy and Pianoman's Santa Claus Benincasa photo. The poor will be happy to hear that once a year they can count on Christians growing a conscience and buy them some dounuts and coffee.

Most people have secular jobs. We buy stuff from secular stores. We eat in secular restarauts. Secular is not sin. If the secular world wants to celebrate x-mas, let them. If Christians want to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, let them.

How can one shun a moment in history that passes every year no matter if they like it or not? These moments also cause you to become older and it's not just you but where you live, the job you work at, people you have known through the years, etc, etc. Do you acknowledge these dates, or do you throw elaborate celebrations to honor yourself as some king.

Even what I posted above still has nothing to do with the Bible, and therefore anyone who is presently involved with those type celebrations NEVER say that they are Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Shinto, or Baptist. They call them celebrations, formal or informal (three piece suit or no three piece suit) and no one is claiming that they are mandated by scripture, or are defendable by scripture.

Xmas on the other hand is called a CHRISTIAN CELEBRATION and it's NOT. It's a tradition held over from paganism, and therefore it was never part of the Christian experience.

Call it a Catholic celebration that is closer to the truth than saying it's Christian or Apostolic.

In Jesus name

It's the one day a year millions upon millions of people get to be Catholic. How thrilling. NOT!

If you're wondering, just go read some scripture.......there are a few that contain the phrase "This day is BORN a savior........."

A losing battle? Not hardly, Bro. I haven't celebrated Christmas for 15 years straight and don't plan on reversing course now. Christmas is pagan, and unless an apple tree can produce oranges Christmas will continue to be pagan.

I will tell you the same I tell everyone else. Go study up on Christmas, its practices, their origins, etc. Then go study your Bible to find out how God feels about adopting pagan practices as a means of worshipping Him.
