Yeah but...

As a "one-stepper" I tend to think that Ananias called Saul "brother" because they were both children of God by regeneration. And, I've quoted that passage to show that Saul had been saved/born again three days earlier in the dust on the road outside Damascus.
But, if you look at Romans 9:1-3
1 I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost,
2 That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart.
3 For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:
Paul speaks of the unsaved/unregerate Jewish folks as brothers. Could it be that Ananias called Saul "brother" because they were both Jewish?

Also, when Peter addressed the gathered crowd on the Day of Pentecost, he called them brothers ( Acts 2:29).

Funny thing Matt, KH is not a liberal the church he pastored won souls, was spiritual minded, gave to word missions had a vision and everyone there experienced Acts 2:38.
Hate to break it to you but many who lead the UPCI had this mindset, Urshan most likely because of his father, Goss, Vouga, not sure about Chambers, it ridiculous to think that all who have come before were Acts 2:38 all or nothing people.

Keith,
I have no beef with KH. I just find it funny that so many UPC ministers are so strong in the Act 2: 38 heaven or hell message, but would accept someone (and Follow them as the leader) that possibly believes that the AOG folks are saved if they are walking in all the light they know.
I was not trying to make this a tear KH apart thread, as much as try to get some responses from the PAJC believing folks as to their reasons for being able to set KH's views on this aside and follow him.

I would be interested in a comment from the Hoover House about Stanley Chambers take on the "light doctrine", if he had one. He was their Grandfather.
