Areal photos of the church show no "woods" around the church area.
a) the 2nd group was already out in the "woods" and everyone was "geared up"
b) how old were the areal photos or satellite photos you saw??? sometimes they are only taken every so many years.... long after tree cover has grown up....

Its a false assumption though....

the police report clearly specified they played at the church more than once a month.... NOT somewhere else once a month....

read my above post #90....

The only ones completely NOT at fault are the cops! Can you imagine if this WAS a group of "yutes" ready to go on a killing spree and they didn't do anything because it was private property or they thought they were just playing?
well, i dont agree about the cops.

yes, it would have been neglegent for the cops not to stop and ask questions.

having gotten the answers, a police report filed then allows all Madison Police to understand that these kids are on their church property, with adult supervision playing.

going forward, the police in the area now are armed with enough information to prevent them from fireing on a child with a toy in their hand, and at the same time not feel threatened.

it is reasonable to assume that if you use google earth, the photos would be in the last 5 years. not near enough time to see trees grow.

also, if they are in the city, the opposite might be the case, that trees would be cut down, but NOT to see a clean city lot turn into forrest.

Yes sir... I used the MapEZ application that is on their webpage.

It does appear, though, that they were using the small group of trees to the east of the parking lot according to the police report.

There was no information in the article specific enough to suggest this but the police report was more specific.

Once they discovered what was going on then simply filing a report and moving on (as you suggested) would have been more than enough response.

...which makes the interference by both the police and the city council even more egregious!

They KNOW these kids will be AT THIS LOCATION playing with air guns (which is legal in the United States until the gestapo comes and takes away our kids toys)

There is NO reason what so ever for this harassment! Furthermore, according to the article, neither the police nor the new ordinance apply to this situation as it is private property and thus exempt!

police report clearly specified "woods" not "grouping of trees"..... additionally, you can't really hide and sneak around where theres absolutely no tree cover....
