Miss Brat and Felicity,

Good posts, but do you think the pastor's wife should be called Pastor too?

It's not Biblical. Just because people do a thing doesn't make it right.

Well, yes, actually it does because the Bible commands against showing partiality and elevating the pastor's wife above the other wives is showing partiality.

I agree Bro. Randy.

Whether we like it or not, this is the way it is. Because of the position she occupies as Pastor's wife she is a leader and it's true even if she isn't actively involved in a lot of ministry activities, and even if she doesn't carry a lot of responsibility.

She is looked at differently than if she was one of the sheep being shepherded by the pastor for sure and she leads by example if in no other way.

If she's been given that office or title, then sure if she herself is comfortable with it.

Our Seniors Pastor is a woman and my husband occasionally calls her and recognizes her as Pastor Mary.

Most of the time she gets "Mary" and most people call her by her given name, but occasionally she's recognized for the office she fills and she is recognized and called "pastor" but only in the capacity of the responsibility she fills as the one who is looking after the seniors.
