Why the aversion to triune or triunity ... Interesting to note that Andrew Urshan, father of Nathaniel Urshan, objected to the use of the term "oneness" preferring to describe God as a "tri-unity" or "Three-One God" in his book: The Almighty God in the Lord Jesus Christ, (pgs 6,42,78,93) or : The Blessed Three-ness of the Godhead. WG 4 (July 1923), 2-4.

Because in my mind the tri-unity is often understood either correctly or incorrectly as trinitarian, but the three in one is more in line with oneness theology.

three in one is Oneness? Where does the three come in? Why would we let the polytheistic dictations determine how we view the beauty of the Great King we serve?

3 manifestations of the one God!! geeze, ur slow (tic)
S'all I heard when I got into church.. "3 in 1... 3 in 1... 3 in 1..."
Anyway, "one" in "..the Lord our God is one.." is "echad" one of essence.
Trinitarians argue that if the writer intended to pen that God is one in number,
he would have used "yachid." One in number. *shrugs*

Did he literally say he rejected that term or did he just use the term Triunity a lot?
Perhaps a reason was "Oneness" might sound like Unitarianism and Modalism is considered historically to be a Trinitarian heresy (by Trinitarians) also called Economic Trinitarianism.

Three modes or manifestations. Oneness has always taught that there are three, they just deny there are three persons.
