I think the problem you are having with getting answers is that your phrasing makes every question seem loaded. Just fyi.
I am unaware of any Apostolic prophets with a platform that would allow for global outreach. There probably are some, but I cannot name one. As such, I would say the most prevalent use of prophesy is a localized version.
I would rather speak five words of prophecy, but the concepts are not mutually exclusive. Paul said speaking words that are understood are more profitable to the congregation, but he also thanked God he spoke in tongues more than the rest.
