I'm surprised you were able to find any .223 ammo. When I bought mine, I bought two cases of 500 rounds each at the same time and still have most of it. I am treating each round like gold! LOL
Hoping not to repeat the same mistake I made with the .223 (and not stocking up when I had the chance) I just recently bought an additional 10 thousand rounds of CCI .22

I was thinking that sounded a little dramatic and for Texas to cooperate, didn't sound right either. lol

He bought them from our DIL's father. You would have appreciated how my husband was handling them and arranging them in the ammo boxes. It had a spiritual feeling to it.

My sons have guns. And in a time of disaster we would all try to get together. And I know that they would do their best to protect us. I’ve often thought, what if we were being attacked and one of them handed me a gun. Could I, would I use it?

I wouldn’t use a gun to kill, to protect food or material things.
I wouldn’t use a gun, to protect myself against the Government, during Religious Persecution. It would be useless.
I would hope that I could use it to protect myself and family against a gang of murderer’s.

We are not under the Law of the OT. Therefore we can not use the OT for our guide. Those people that had faith, will be saved, however, in the New Covenant we have the New Birth and can not commit murder, adultery, and many things that they got by with, because they did not have the Holy Ghost.

I believe, (haven’t studied it for a while) that there is a difference in murder and killing

I stand corrected. The gun is the AR-15 that has been removed. Dick's Sporting Goods didn't honor any of the orders that were placed before this last shooting. And my husband said that when he checked, the other company ads, i.e. Academy, Bass Pro Shop, etc., the gun is not available. Cabela's carries it, but it notes that the gun is not available in Connecticut. He also said he imagines the ATF suggested they remove them, and being politically correct, they did.

I made a vow to my bride before God and man that I would protect her and I intend to do that by what ever means necessary. No hesitations, no regrets, period. I have guns, I really like guns, I plan to purchase more guns and I know how to use them effectively. Having said that, I prefer not to be forced in a position to use them on any body, so I have a doberman. She is out side often for all to see and works well as a deterrent from would be burglars and overly curious neighbors. As long as bad guy doesn't throw a piece of steak or offer a hand to lick...

Perhaps for you, the one and only thing that would cause you to use a weapon on someone is to protect someone else. I cannot think of a better one.

The ATF wasn't involved but many of the chain stores stopped carrying the AR and AR style guns here as well. I guess they are just so scary looking!

Pacifism is akin to those who refuse to go to the doctor when they are sick. The argument boils down to 'what God visits upon me, shall be'. 'If God wants to save me from sickness, then he will'; 'if God wants to save me and my loved ones from the lunatic with a shotgun in the food court, then he will'. It's a perfectly fine stance to take if you have the faith required for such a situation, and I mean that in all seriousness. But I don't think God demands that level of faith from every Christian. If we choose to defend ourselves, as is our God-given instinct, then I don't believe He will be angry with us or punish us for that. Likewise, we have heard of miracles that follow Christians who met evil armed with nothing but faith, and God honors that.

I don't think you can look down upon either philosophy, although I do think those who refuse self-defense are taking far more risk by assuming they will have the faith required in such a situation. You can't just wear your pacifism as a talisman and assume God will honor the thought alone. Without commensurate faith, such a stance is no more protection than a little gold cross on a chain around your neck. Same goes for those who refuse medical treatment. More power to ya, and best of luck.

AR 15 type semi automatic rifles are almost sold out in my area and at all of the online stores. I went to an area gun show yesterday and the few that were there were commanding double their normal price. Least expensive one was $1600 and most were $2000!!!

Standing in line I met the owner of a security company who has a friend who has a FFL license and has 3 or 4 AR 1's coming in for under $1,000 so I am probably going to buy one of those if I can.

If society should ever break down and a group of 20 or 30 desperate hooligans attack your house to steal your food and supplies if you don't have the God given sense to defend your family I feel sorry for you.

For the pacifist... the issue is obedience to a command to be like Jesus.

Would Jesus blow away somebody breaking into his home???

And for the pacifist... to die at the hands of a violent person while obeying Jesus is martyrdom.

Being a Christian has a price. A price many aren't willing to pay anymore.
