This way, not only is there some restraint on firearms implimented, but there is also an expansion of gun rights and the ability to protect one's self and the community.
I disagree with any ban being "reasonable". The main purpose of the 2nd Amendment is security. In my mind, it's unreasonable to assume that the person must "demonstrate a need" against any threats that may be encountered. Threats are not to be simply met; aside from running away (which may be a reasonable course of action in some cases), the deterrent to the threat must be superior to the threat.

Will I face a single person threat or a riot or a flash mob? I don't know. Is each of these possible? Yes, all three have happened in the recent past.

Actually, no law will "prevent" you from yelling "fire", but they will assist in your prosecution after you're apprehended. More laws are not the answer.

CT has a bunch of laws in place that are specifically designed to prevent the school shooting tragedy. And only 1 law actually tripped up the shooter, albeit for only a short time. He attempted to purchase a rifle and was told that there was a 3 day waiting period. He would have failed the background check that would have accompanied the purchase process. He then decided to obtain the weapons illegally (choosing the easiest path of stealing his Mom's guns and then killing her). Had his Mom not had any weapons, is there anyone who reasonably thinks that the shooter would not have gone on the rampage? He would have gotten the weapons somehow.

The Bamster is doing great things for the economy these last few days with the promise to ban all them evil guns. Gun sales are through the roof and stores cant keep guns like the AR15 and all things AR15 related on the shelf. Went in today to purchase a Sigsaur 556 patrol SWAT AR15 only a few ARs left and zero high cap. magazines left.

The last gun show my husband went to, a few weeks ago, it was crowded and the guns and ammo were flying out the doors.

I would not want to attend a gun show these next few weeks before the ban is announced. High prices, big crowds and a buying frenzy for sure.

Bamster's handlers are using psychology on people. Tell them they cannot have something and they will run out and buy as much of it as they can.

Surprisingly I was still able to order a couple more hi capacity mag's for my Ruger P95 (32 rounds). AND they were still only 24.95 -and in stock no less!

I now plan on picking up a few more 30 rd mags for my AR.

The thing that has really gone through the roof is ammo prices. 223 ammo has nearly doubled since I bought my Bushmaster a year ago. (Although I have been stocking up on an insane amount of good ol .22 rounds.)

Re: Gun Control

Why are the President's children worth protecting more than ours? If politicians really cared about ALL children, ALL schools should have armed, trained guards. Oh wait, they don't care until AFTER they are dead. Then they want to take away our weapons. Over simplification? Probably, but that is how it seems to me.

If one really looks at various freedoms in the most fundamental way, the right to own property and the right to defend yourself are even more important than the right to free speech and religion (albeit barely).

For the hard left, people have NO right to self defense even going to far as dishing our stricter sentences to those who defend themselves over those who do the initial assault. England and Australia are great examples of this mindset.
