My favorite was Marietta Wolfe. She was a sainted woman held in extremely high esteem in her Southern UPC church after her split from LW.

That was a very hard pill for those Southern racista to swallow. I know some men whose heart I think it broke.
They thought she had been in the deep South long enough that she was "one of them".
