ILG life is short, maybe you supervisor knows something about the lady you don't. If it's that intolerable, you may have to give an ultimatum.

They might pick your nose and wipe it on your burger!

It's not worth an ultimatum. I did talk to my supervisor today about it some and she said she was going to think about what I said.

I never know how to deal with these kinds of things. I always have this idea that things should get resolved but most of my experiences in life/work/church have been someone pronounces an answer without anyone really having any say and you just have to suck it up and it makes you feel angry and resentful.

I guess we'll see what happens. My supervisor is a very nice person and she cares. I know she'll try to do what she can but she may not do exactly what I want either. Mostly, I just want to be heard out and have my views taken into account rather than told I have to cow tow to someone who is rude to me.

No, not happenin'. You know how it goes - You can pick your friends and you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your friends' nose.

Re: Coworker Spat

Whenever I go to a restaurant or especially a fast food outlet I really try to not only be friendly to the staff but to engage them with eye contact and to try and make a friend of them. That way, I hope and pray, they might think twice about anything "iffy" that goes on behind the counter or in the kitchen and do me a favor because I "seemed like a nice guy..."

As ILG has pointed out, OCD is a terrible burden to have to live with. Our struggles are constant and daily, but we persevere. Just please, don't make us have to carry that can of Lysol into the office.

When I hurt my back and my supervisor suggested that I move some things around for my benefit, my coworker kept moving them back! She knew that I hurt my back and needed to do this. After about 2 or 3 weeks of her angry with me because her work area was changed, she came in crying and apologized to me. I forgave her but then she continues on with the same type of behavior after my back is better. (The work area has been changed back since I am better...it is just that she continues to try and control things.) I can see she tries but she really does have some control issues. My supervisor likes to "keep the peace" so she gives in to her. She wants me to do the same. One time, when she started moving things on my desk after I had left the room, I told her I needed those things where I had put them and I expected them to stay there.
Yep. I was thinking that this was more of a control issue ... with HER control over you.
Some folks just feel the need to show others that they can make you do what they want. I have had experiences when you give into some demands, they are not satisfied until you give into all their demands. I think that there should be some boundaries. Problem is, these types can cross your boundary anytime they wish, but you cannot cross their boundary.

Those types of people are the ones who are being petty, silly and egotistical and as long as you are pleasant to her (I know this is hard to do) you should be your own person unless your supervisor demands you succumb to this ... lady's ( ) idiosyncrasies.

Uh....That is why I do not like to frequent certain restraunts, and now I will never order a lemon with my tea. It is hard for them to put lemon in a glass of soda. I also try to leave good tips, and a little better than normal if I am with a bad tipper. If you want to be loved, you have to pay for it. It saves on nasty reactions in the kitchen.
