Flew in to Austin Bergstrom, Saturday night. Couldn't see the fire, but I don't know if they weren't visible from there at that time, or if the plane was at the wrong angle.
I wouldn't know what the view could have been from Bergstrom. It's amazing were were just leaving town when the fire was getting started and we had no idea! It was tremendous winds that Sunday. That's the reason the fire was able to take hold so strongly. We are going to drive over there in a couple of weeks to assess the damage. My BIL's house is still standing. Very happy about that. It's his second close call.

Yep, makes me wonder if they should send Sheriff's Deputies with the Fire Marshall's. The problem is everyone is worn out, and then have to deal with stupid people.
