I do sometimes--and he did have one *screaming* episode. LOL!!!! I like him, though. He's open and honest about topics that need to be addressed in today's world--and pretty conservative from a moral standpoint, which is refreshing in today's church world.

I am listening to him now. He is talking about the one true God revealed in the Trinity. But it is interesting because mainly most of what he is saying is what you could hear every Sunday at any local UPC church.

JTULLOCK, I like MD, but he is a diehard trinitarian--no doubt about it. He specifically refers to the "trinitarian God of the Bible", which is a confusing reference to put it lightly.
There is no way that he is even remotely in line with oneness theology. He specifically refutes modalism/Sabellianism/oneness in this video:

Re: Screaming Preaching?
Miss B. That is the Video I am watching. I know that he is a Trinitarian, but I will tell you this. What I have seen in this video he is not too far off. I just think that most people from our back ground hear trinity they automatically think everything he says is going to be wrong. The fact of the matter is that God is Triune. Actually He is Multiune because He is all in all.

NOW, you should try this next Sunday. I like what he said because it is true. But all men are still boys at times.

Re: Screaming Preaching?
My opinion is a good preacher is somewhere between blue in the face and Ben Stein. So I guess I like a pretty broad spectrum. I have screamed at the high points of a good message at times, and I've kept it low key sometimes as well. It's all in where the Spirit leads.
One thing I don't care for though, is the overuse of bywords(praise, thank, glory to God, Hallelujah, my Lord, etc) because that can get you into trouble:
"Well the devil's really been battlin' me huh, glory to God huh, my mother-in-law just passed away thank God huh....."

Re: Screaming Preaching?
Miss B. also I meant to add this. He is using these terms out of context. There are several people that misunderstand what us oneness people believe. Most people hear oneness and they think Modalism, which we are not.

I didn't appreciate his remarks about oneness theology and the UPCI in particular because I think he "dumbed it down" and somewhat misrepresented what we believe. We don't call ourselves Jesus only, and most oneness people do call the Father--the Father, the Son--the Son, and the Holy Ghost--the Holy Ghost. For instance, I've never heard a single oneness person refer to "Jesus the Father", or "Jesus the Holy Ghost." I've never heard anyone claim that "Jesus" overshadowed Mary. So in the context of verbiage, oneness theology treats the "roles" distinctly.
Plus, he illustrates a side of trinitarian doctrine that some people on this forum deny exists: the firm belief that there are three, distinct persons in the godhead.
As far as family values, morality, sexual purity, and other issues, I think he's great! When it comes to basic doctrines, I can't really respect his views (especially in regard to Calvinism), although I respect his right to have them.
