Paul was silent on "cold denominations" and "Muslims." He did tell us however one of the characteristics of "madness." Your thoughts...?

Please Read 1 COR.12,13,14 in context.
Paul told us what would be perceived as "madness" and we, for whatever reasons, seek to emulate it. I'm not saying, "Forbid to speak in tongues;" not by any means.

I'm just asking why do we do the things that Paul at least appeared to compare to "madness?"

I've been in services with groups where just about the entire congregation would sing together in tongues. It was beautiful and moving. I imagine it must have also beeen very compelling to any unbelievers present. I don't have a problem with tongues or even lift up our voices together in worship and prayer - what I am interested in is the subject of "madness" as described by Paul.

Re: Praying People Through

I echo Paul's sentiments here.
I thank my God I speak with tongues more than you all,yet in the church I would rather speak five words with my understanding that I may teach others also, than ten thousand words in a tongue. 1.COR.14:18

Here is a another interesting article.

If you read the whole of 1.COR.12 Apostle Paul is talking giving messages in tongues in a congreagational setting.

You dont think so. Well, lets set aside your personal opinions for a sec. If you have scriptures for this, please share them.

And you presume no one else has ever had that gifting since the 12 apostles? If you have scripture for that, please show it to us.

Well, this brings me back to my original question, which you really didnt asnwer directly:

Let me ask it a different way now:

Are you saying that since the Holy Ghost "just happens", a person should not pray [even by himself] to receive the Holy Ghost?
