Re: Forced Worship
Without reading the majority of this thread, I would ask the question, isn't any worship better than no worship? When the "rocks cry out" are they doing it voluntarily?

well, if it is "forced" then it isn't worship.... and in a place where people are forced to run, jump, or whatever, it's not of God and it causes confusion....

Re: Forced Worship
I've seen it many times when people are told to run, jump, roll, go crazy........... but how many times do you see preachers telling people to "cry, cry cry" ........... no, it doesn't happen.... People get addicted to "high"' church and think that unless it's crazy then God hasn't moved......... and all the while God is waiting for us to get our ideas out of the way for Him to move!

Again, I haven't read most of the thread so am not to up on the context. But I would agree that being forced to worship in a certain way (aka, jumping and running) is below the pale.

Right up there with holy laughter, which I have only seen a few times, and being slain in the spirit -once the first person goes, then it becomes fashionable to follow suit.

yep. I've seen it all my life...... I have also seen and been in the real presence of God! I've jumped... I've lept... I've ran.... IMO, that is my praise to Him.... but when I worship the Lord, I am in awe of Him. I want to hide my face because then I feel like I have His attention and I know who I really am... I am not worthy to feel Him, but His love for me made me worthy. When I worship the Lord, I usually find a place away from every one else... There is a difference between Praise and Worship!

Re: Forced Worship
The most powerful moves I have ever felt and witnessed have been quiet ones, but with almost a sense of low-rumbling thunder underneath it all.
When the crowd gets all worked up, the only thing it reminds me of is my DJ days when I would get everyone on the dance floor by playing the Fat Boys version of The Twist.

Re: Forced Worship
Oh yeah, I know what you are saying.... Those are the most life changing, powerful services...... I have to admit that I do like all aspects of Pentecost... I enjoy watching people bless the Lord in their dance... I also like to watch others get blessed by God... No, I don't care to be told when to dance or run... But I do love it when God moves!

Sad and pitiful.
