Re: Evangelicals & Nervous Breakdowns

I took 75 questions in 77 minutes and walked out thinking "I was nervous about that?!?"

Honestly, I could have passed those questions after my first semester of med-surg. I think the state boards just require you to to nursing school so that you can have the pleasure of being tormented the way generations of nurses before us have been.

Really though, I answered the first 25 questions and was like, did I go to school for this? It was stuff I already knew! No brainers!

But after I answered question 79, I got kinda nervous, because for most, it cuts off after 75!!

I had to answer about 120. But I passed!

Wish I could find out my scores and the itemization of individual areas.
The RCP test spits out a readout right away. Itemizes everything.

Oh no. The fastest you can find out if you passed your state board for RN is 48 hours. And that's if your state allows you to do so. Some states make you wait 2-4 weeks while they decide to mail you a license.

Was 72 hours for me. And all I can find out is whether I passed or failed.

Pass/Fail is all the information we get too. We're left to figure it out for ourselves exactly in what area we were weaker so that we can be better prepared for a second attempt.

I had nursing instructors who said "I'm not here to teach you. I'm here to facilitate your independent learning." Geee....I thought I was paying the school for you to teach me. I didn't know I was paying so that you could tell me to read 12 chapters and then test me on a different 12.

Re: Evangelicals & Nervous Breakdowns

There is a question I want to ask; no names please:

How many Apostolic people have you know through the years have had what is considered a "nervous breakdown?"

I have known 5, 4 were ministry leaders.

Blessings, Rhoni

About the same amount...I think to much pressure...people want you o be too perfect, in on everything and no time for yourself...after a while it catches up with you.

Yes, I believe you are right. We need to learn self-care/taking time to replenish our minds & strength.

Love & Prayers,
Rhoni
