Re: The REASON I want to be a missionary...

Sometimes I think I'd like to go overseas and teach English one day.

If it's the Lord's will it'll happen. For now, I cant say it's something God has laid on my heart, or not. It's just something I think I'd like to do.

But the Lord has a way of opening some doors and shutting others, so I don't spend a lot of time thinking about it. If it's his will, he'll open that door at the right time. Otherwise, I'll just keep myself occupied right where I am.

Excellent attitude, TR.......that's kind of what we were saying to Rhoni, but it backfired.

God always calls people that are already busy.

Re: The REASON I want to be a missionary...

TRFrance and Michael Phelps:

Both very excellent points.

I have witnessed in my own life that when God is about to close one door, the first thing that begins to arise in my life is a bit of agitation and dissatisfaction with what I am presently doing. It is then that I begin to pray about what direction in my life that I should take. He will either do one thing or the other. He might begin showing me what he wants me to do by giving me a vision and a burden for that direction in my life. On the other hand, I've had God to just CATAPULT me into a work....like it or not...BAM! LOL... It happens both ways some times.

I'v have had the privledge of meeting Rhoni a few times. In her, I found a beautiful lady with a very brilliant mind, pleasing personality, beautifully dressed with a burden for the work of God. I am convinced that she would be great in whatever role God chooses to use her whether it is in her continued professional career or in ministry as well. In fact, if God is in it and she truly has a burden for the mission fields, I am convinced that she would be a great success doing whatever it is that God would have for her to do there.

Let us encourage our sister. She has proven herself over many years in ministry. I'm all for her. God is for her. The Word is for her. The angels are for her. Really, I don't see how the dear lady can lose.

Be blessed, sister Rhonda. Today is a new day and God's mercies are renewed day by day.

Re: The REASON I want to be a missionary...

Thank you for the prayers but being more kind would be better. James Dobson had a whole program this morning on Cyber-bullying and that is what happened on this thread. I hope I am never in the position to do to others what was done to me on this thread.

I will be taking a break from the forum for awhile - please don't contact me.
Thank you,
Rhonda

That is all people can do on a forum. If they don't know someone in person, all they have to go by is what is typed here on the forum. Sometimes people don't even realize how they make themselves seem by the words they post on this forum.

Cyber-bullying isn't what happened here. Cyber-bullying is much worse than what we've seen here. What we've seen here is posters adding their opinions to this thread, and the original poster basically verbally slapping everyone that didn't agree with what they said.

I know you wouldn't consider me to be a friend either, as you told someone earlier who offered an opinion. However when you post something on a public forum you are opening yourself to the opinions of everyone that reads what you post and wishes to respond. In the future, you might avoid being hurt by reading the opinions of other people if you were to write things you feel into a journal instead of on a public forum.

Re: The REASON I want to be a missionary...

Friends are people you have known and loved through the years who have loved you in return; good, bad, and ugly. I have plenty of friends who disagree with me, and I them, but we are careful with each other and speak the truth in love.

I wasn't the one doing the slapping but when it is an ADMIN slapping then of course you would have a different opinion.

I received a PM from an internet acquaintance telling me that I was a "Christian work-a-holic" and that I know what I am called to do so get at it. The first thing they have spoken that was the truth.

Blessings,
Rhoni

No one posted in this thread as ADMIN. Unless they specifically state when they post that they are posting as ADMIN, they are just another poster.

Even as counselors we know that we have an inner bias. We have to be aware of it and be cautious so as not to allow transference to occur. An ADMIN may post as a poster but at the same time they are aware of the control or power they wield.

I do not think that any ADMIN would intentionally use their control/power to get a point across but yet...subconsciously in their minds and the minds of those who read...they know.

Wow. Since I am the only ADMIN named specifically in your "cyber bullying" case, I can only assume you are referring to me.

Rhoni, I don't know how much clearer to make this - I am not sorry for my opinions, I am only sorry that I even got involved in a discussion with you by voicing my opinions.

You obviously have mistaken me voicing my opinions to your "I'm bored, I want to be missionary" thread with "cyber bullying", and I really can't see how you can make that leap. But apparently you did.

There are SEVERAL people on this thread who have said the same things Rico and I said, and yet, you've chosen to single us out. Two men. Imagine that!

It's my humble opinion that you need to go and examine some serious issues in your life that are bleeding thru your posts for others to read. I'm quite sure that I can't help you, and I"m sorry that I even tried.
