Frankly Rico, you probably should have done your homework on this before posting something inaccurate to begin with. But anyway...

You yourself posted that the root word (in Hebrew) for Barak means lightning.

Barack is an Arabic name; the root word means blessed. (the Hebrew equivalent would be Baruch, which also means blessed.

Barak means lightning, Barack means blessed.
Thus...they're not the same name.

I don't need to prove anything further, bro.
It's your thread topic. Feel free to go do the necessary fact checking if u like.

Peace.
That's the thing TRFrance. I wasn't trying to say his name was the same. I said that when I read about Barak in Hebrews it made me think of Barack Obama, so I decided to do a search on the name Barak in the Bible. I never said it was the same name as Barack. When someone asked me if that was the case, I answered with "apparently so", not yes. Nothing I have posted is inaccurate because I never said Barack was the same as Barak. Nice try though!

And no, it's not the same name spelled differently. They are two different root words altogether.

So frankly, this whole discussion is pointless.
But full of funny one-liners!

(at least it doesn't hurt to laugh anymore)

Amen, Brother! I think it's great that a person of color has made it this far.
