Not saying he didn't receive something from God but I am convinced that the reason the gifts are used so much in these churches is because the people are so tormented.

Why are people so tormented? Apparently the organized church systems are not doing their job if people are looking for a word from God.

This is why we don't look to men we look to God. If God can use a donkey, he can use a preacher, a pastor, or an evangelist, but to God be the glory. And God is the ultimate authority. Follow a man as they follow Christ. If they get off the path, don't follow them.

God will use a man or woman as long as they are humble and give God the glory and don't exalt themselves in the flesh.

The question is, why did we allow ourselves to be in a place like that so that we could be manipulated?

Were we so longing for friendship or being around other people that we put up with it? Is it possible we didn't think we would fit in with the other church down the road?

People who are abused over and over usually have issues they are dealing that keep them in that cycle of abuse. I know that I was very weak minded and selfish and I wanted to be accepted and suffered some because of that.

God does work supernaturally, and he works through people.
Flesh can get lifted up because it is being used of God.

Paul said he had to die daily,
he said he gloried in the cross and only the cross.

I agree, people are hungry for the supernatural. So much so that they will be conned by these guys. I have seen men that were scary good and some seemed to be of God. However, sometimes I am not sure if they are of God or of some other spirit?

I have seen a lot but I have rarely had a any of those guys be right more than 50% of the time. You get me up in front of a small pentecostal church and have the music going and people just wanting something to happen so bad they can't stand it and I promise you I can cold read enough people to scare folks to death.

So what you are saying is that you not only believe that some people who operate in the gifts of the Spirit are false, but all who claim Spiritual gifts are false?
