Democrat Party: The Party of Food Stamps

Under this administration 20 straight months of food stamp requests have increased month to month. The GOP is the party of entrepeneurs, job creation, private business expansion and lower taxes. The only thing that has grown under Obama is the size of government, the deficit, unemployment, government assistance, the printing of money, taxes, and American dissatisfaction.

We warned you in 2008. You didn't listen. Will you now believe that substance is more important than style? That capitalism trumps socialism? That free enterprise, even with its risks, is a much better alternative than government control? Will you put true conservatives in power? Will you vote for a rival candidate in 2012 to remove President Obama from office and prevent this continual slide toward mediocrity and economic devastation? We may only have a few more chances left to get the right people in office in order to stop the bleeding before its too late.

The deep debt and borrowing cannot continue without dire consequences.

He wasn't a true Conservative anyway.

Back to this thread, did you hear about the move in New York for "sugary drinks" to be removed from the list of eligible food stamps purchases?

I think it is an awesome idea!

The government is not helping you when it enables you to buy drinks that are void of nutritional value and more harmful than good.

Not all sugary drinks are void of nutritional value and one reason they get them is they are cheaper

Cheaper doesn't mean healthier-- in fact, most times it means the opposite.

That said, if food stamps is a means of the government helping people, giving the peope the ability to use that help in a way that is unhealthy is not helping them.

This is akin to people attempting to use food stamps to buy cigarrettes-- it should not be allowed.

Re: Democrat Party: The Party of Food Stamps

In this state at one of our food stores someone witnessed welfare cases coming in and buying shopping cart loads of bottled water and so they started watching them, they take them out to the parking lot and dump everyone of them on the ground and return them for the deposit to buy their cigs and beer.State wouldnt do anything about it, so the store said ok we will, from now on if your paying with an EBT card(which was supposed to stop fraud LOL) then you have to pay the deposit in cash. PS they had them scammed as soon as they came out, by doing there neighbors shopping for them and pocketing the whole thing in cash.

If you want to do wrong, you'll do wrong.

The vast majority of welfare recipients are not trying to scam the government out of pennies for beer.

Since the government has an obligation to do right by her citizens, I can't see it being any other way than for soda and other high fructose drinks to be banned from the list of eligible items for food stamp purchase.

I think alot of things need to be removed. Be nice if they cut back on the amount as well.
