I Went To Life Tabernacle This Morning
I woke up wavering on going to church, because I wasn't feeling well, but Esther sent me a PM. I really wanted to meet her and her husband and so I got dressed and went to church.
The praise and worship started out VERY upbeat with the first song selection, but then the remaining songs were slower and ushered in such a sweet presence of the Lord. I am Apostolic and while I can appreciate the shouting, I much prefer the deep, slower worship that comes from the heart.
I kept looking for Nancy Kilgore because I thought she led the praise and worship, but then found out she was this morning's speaker. She did an excellent job speaking on anger and our need to forgive others and her delivery was anointed and affective.
I knelt at my seat and prayed after Sister Nancy spoke and a couple came up to me and prayed with me. I thought it was Esther and her husband, because the brother knew so much about my physical challenges and spiritual concerns (come to find out it wasn't Esther and her husband). It never ceases to amaze me how personal our Savior is and how he uses willing vessels as instruments of his love.
I got exactly what I needed this morning spiritually and physically I felt so much better. After praying awhile, I went outside to call Esther, since I didn't know what she looked like, but she and her husband had already left. I'm sure I was quite the site strolling around and smiling and saying hello to every short statured sister wearing blue thinking that they were Esther.
By the way, I did get to hear Sister Nancy sing during alter call, but I soon drowned her beautiful, angelic singing out with my weeping and praying. As they say, "It was ALL good"!
God bless and thank you folks for your prayers.

We were at a Foreign Missions conference at Life Tab by request. We drove all the way from Denver to Houston just for that conference.
I loved the church, I loved the people, I loved the spirit and atmosphere. I appreciated the quality and class that was represented in everything that was done there - the way the church was decorated, etc.
I'll never forget those services!

I only got to visit Life Tabernacle once and that was in the mid 1970's. I enjoyed the service. James Kilgore was a class act!!!! He had an excellent reputation in Houston as a good pastor and member of the community.

I miss Bishop James and Imogene Kilgore so much. I have so many fond memories of those years when I attended Life under their leadership.
I appreciate Jim and Nancy Kilgore's compassion and vision for Life Tabernacle. It was nice to see so many new converts in the service this morning.
They are preparing for more church growth with the construction of the new tabernacle. Click on the link below to see it under construction.

This thread makes me want to visit Houston.I loved the Fiesta Supermarkets.
The church was amazing. There was alot of prayer and worship that went on.Brother Caulk was the assistant pastor when we attended. He was awesome. What a trial of faith he went through before going on to glory.
God is so good.
Does anyone who visits there remember Brother Derek McCloud? His mother
Isabel is a member of FPC Pensacola.

Dear Chosenbyone,
I couldn't be more pleased. God has some good things in store for you...I just know it. Things happen as they should.
