Deut. 26.12 "Every third year you must offer a special tithe of your crops. In this year of the special tithe you must give your tithes to the Levites, foreigners, orphans, and widows, so that they will have enough to eat in your towns."

So the agrarian class is levied an income tax to pay for temple bureaucrats and up to 66% of the rest of it goes to the "underprivileged" .... that is redistribution of wealth (aka socialism in some circles ... and to some of the apocalyptic crowd it's a cuss word meaning the end of the world ... while still ignoring the real meaning of "socialism".
In a theocracy .. that's gov't intervention (gasp)... what say ye?

No ... he obviously did not consult the Christian right who ironically voted religiously for the "tax cut and spend" Bushes ...
Maybe this "revelation" came to the Bushes while in Texas .... it explains the deficit spending of the Christian Bush dynasty, doesn't it?

Come on Daniel that isn't even close to what we have here.
And who enforced this? Did he add thousands of priests just to collect it and distribute it?

God enforced it, duh ... His Law... and rewarded it by "opening the windows of heaven" .... and some today would rather have it all go to their parish pastor ....
Um .... Baron is this redistribution of wealth?

Some go as far as saying the levying any income taxes is socialism ... somewhere there is a balance to the extremism and the ad hominems

We are talking about 1/10 every three years, or 3.34% tax rate.
If we go with God's plan we have to do some serious tax cuts.

Not even our founders were no tax proponents. Taxation is necessary to run a government, amazing that God only needed 3.34% rate to do it.
