Your Goals, Thoughts & Predictions for 2009
2008 was a pretty rough year. It was rough economically for a lot of people. There's still a lot of division in the church at large.
What are your hopes for 2009?
Any Predictions? Prophecies?
Do you think the economy will get better or worse?
Will we see a revival in the land or continue spiritual decline in America?
How do you think Obama will do? will the honeymoon end in 2009?
Any other personal goals or thoughts are welcome too.

Re: Your Goals, Thooughts & Predictions for 2009
My hopes for 2009... continue my trek toward becoming debt free... continue setting up my little farm so that it produces more and more of our food.
I do not foresee things getting better for a very long time. I think we have only begun to see the lows that our economy is headed to.
Revival? Loss of toys tends to bring revival and America is headed toward a very large toy loss. Loss of toys... loss of essentials.
These things remind people they have a God.
That tends to bring revival.
Obama had many things he thought he was going to do. Many programs that were going to do this or do that. Obama will find himself swallowing a very large dose of reality when he realizes that socialism takes money and money is not readily available in a failing economy.

someone I know saw a vision of boarded up businesses and stores everywhere. Granted, they told me about this in 2007 and I didn't pay much mind. I can see now that it ma be very likely in '09.
You're right, D4T, spiritually it might help the church.
I think the economy will worsen. I think those in high power are setting it up that way to usher in the new world order.
People will either turn to God or embrace the spirit of the anti christ.

Thankfully 2008 was a very good year for us financially. The company my husband works for had a 30% increase in sales and is doing well. The area we live in has not been affected by the recession. The other day I went to the store and there were 4 and 5 cars waiting for 1 car to pull out and take it's spot. After driving around the parking lot 3x's and not finding anything I went to another store. This was just a grocery store too. We also added another baby to our family this year. We have had a blessed year in 2008 and I look forward to 2009 being better yet.

2008 was a good year for us as well.
No more mortgage... cars paid off etc.
But I see what is going on around me and I am, to the best of my ability, using this time of blessing to prepare for what appears to be eminent.

Kae, the Real Estate down turn has not effected your area at all??
I thought that problem was nation wide. Were ( if you don't mind saying) are you located? what kind of business do you have?
I will tell you, I was surprised when i went to the mall last week, there were absolutley NO parking places, people were obnoxious and their were record crowds. I'm wondering, if the recession is so bad, why so many shopping?
I do know that those in the auto business are really suffering though. many car lots are shutting down. I heard of one car lot having a "buy one car get one free" sale!

I am feeling the same way. I have made more money this year and home values have not been affected that much in Mississippi and Arkansas. When you are from one of the poorest areas in America recession really doesn't bother us because we have always been in recession.

Okay I stand corrected. We have been affected by the real estate, I am not sure by how much though. We live just north of Houston. We were hit financially in 2007 and we moved to Houston area and have been blessed since. We don't have a business, but my husband is a plumber.
