Obama Lays Plans to Kill Expectations After Electi
By Tim Reid, The Times of London
Barack Obama's senior advisers have drawn up plans to lower expectations for his presidency if he wins next week's election, amid concerns that many of his euphoric supporters are harboring unrealistic hopes of what he can achieve.
The sudden financial crisis and the prospect of a deep and painful recession have increased the urgency inside the Obama team to bring people down to earth, after a campaign in which his soaring rhetoric and promises of "hope" and "change" are now confronted with the reality of a stricken economy.
One senior adviser told The Times that the first few weeks of the transition, immediately after the election, were critical, "so there's not a vast mood swing from exhilaration and euphoria to despair."
The aide said that Obama himself was the first to realize that expectations risked being inflated.

So the TRUTH is hitting them in the face now!

Every time I hear him making promises, I question his integrity because he cannot possibly change everything he has been claiming he will change.

Re: Obama Lays Plans to Kill Expectations After El
I wish I had saved an article I read the other day discussing how they have lifted Obama up so high to only show, if he is elected, that he won't be able to carry that image - at all!
The entertainment industry is just driving this nation - it's ignorance at best!

But they'd like the unrealistic expectations to continue all the way through election day, of course.

Certainly! What I find interesting is that a majority of bloggers and posters on various forums, who are Democrat, we not impressed - largely - by his infomercial.
The consensus was that it was a waste of money and he never said anything new. They kept saying - Play ball!! LOL!

Even if Obama has a bad 4-year term as President, there are Democrats who will blame Bush. They'll say something like: "it's hard for Barack to undo in one term the mess that George Bush created in 8 years".
So he has a ready made excuse. Pretty convenient.

Just shows how much they will lie to win an election. Tell the public whatever it takes to get them to vote and then let them down.

I love how they are assuming they've got this thing won already. Something tells me that a haughty spirit comes before a fall.
