God allows things like mans free will to change things. I think that God know who will win. As the end times approach it is only going to get worse no matter which candidate wins it.

I'm not so sure that God cares so much about the kingdom of this world.
I have a feeling that God is only concerned about His Kingdom.
Somehow Pontias Pilate ended up leader in Jesus day. I don't think God fretted himself about the process that led him there nor do I necessarily believe that God tried to stop him or tried to make sure he got there.
All things will serve his purpose in the end... but his purpose is that his children grow in the grace and knowledge of their Christ and find themselves able to inherit HIS kingdom.
Would that we put as much effort into discovering the Kingdom of God as we do effecting the kingdoms of man.
Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer. Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God's wrath but also for the sake of conscience. For the same reason you also pay taxes, for the authorities are ministers of God, attending to this very thing. Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed.

God has an authority structure. He admonishes us to follow the law of the land except when it is contrary to scripture. (example) the government could never make someone have an abortion cause I believe the scriptures point to that being murder. God always wants us to obey authority that is above us. It is a respect thing.

Whoever wins the election, will you say that God's will was done? E.g., if Obama wins, that he was God's choice?
Yes, I will. This is part of the reason why I'm just about done with this election! I've allowed this phony facade of choosing to distract me from my Jesus for long enough. This isn't nearly as important as attending to prayer, training my children, the needs of widows and orphans, etc. God says in the last days evildoers will wax worse and worse. What is more evil than unprincipled men orchestrating election fraud and then the evils of socialism?
God can work great miracles and effect great revival when the complacent and wealthy (compared to most of the world) American middle and lower classes find themselves in the crucible of deep despair.

Timmy, I have a question for you: Do you believe this passage convicts the leaders of the American war for independence? Does this mean, in your opinion, that America is an evil and artificial construct, and its existence is out of God's will for the order of things in our world?

No. But I don't believe that all authorities that exist were instituted by God. Some are evil. God didn't establish them. They are not servants of God. And when an evil government punishes those who resist it, it is not doling out God's wrath. Just its own wrath. And doing what is good will not necessarily receive the government's approval.
In other words, Romans 13:1-7 is wrong, in nearly every detail.

Will someone comment on the latter part of this verse? I heard a sermon preached on this many years ago and cannot remember the full meaning of the message.
Hebrews 2:8
Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.

Timmy,
Am I misunderstanding you or are you saying the Bible is wrong, or at least Romans 13:1-7 is wrong?
I think there is a difference between what God allows and what's God will.
Though I completely disagree with it and hate some of what he has done and was has happened while he has been our president, God allowed Mr. Bush to be our President, much like God allowed Saul to be the first king of Israel.
Whoever wins, is God's will
