Re: In 52 Seconds Why Barack Obama Won't Win

I think maybe you're giving the American sheeple too much credit.

Most Americans haven't heard what Obama has said in this ad.... and even if they did, most wouldn't recognize why those words represent a danger to our nation.

The fact is, this man shouldn't even be this close to becoming President in the first place. Even in his own Democrat party, Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden were more qualified candidates; but Obama is a better orator, and that's why he's a step away from being President. Ridiculous.

If John McCain would clearly and effectively explain to America why these positions are dangerous to our country, he would win the elections hands down. Then again, I dont have a lot of confidence that John McCain will do that.

This is the assessment and mindset of a true leader - gauging each war on it's own merits.

McCain/Palin '08

BTW, whoever put the link up titles the clip as - John McCain Gets Owned on Meet The Press

They want to say that Tim Russert owned McCain's words on this. Apparently, the person wasn't actually listening to the clip. McCain was calculated in his view of how EACH war should be fought. He voted AGAINST the Bush's tax cuts because they were NOT balanced with controlled spending.

I think, in some instances, this man is being very misunderstood. That is my opinion on John McCain.

I think some people would vote for him no matter what he said...They don't hear what he is saying they just like the oration.

Exactly. They want "change".
Many of them don't know exactly what this change is really going to look like, but they know they want "change".

People are following this guy like the Pied Piper.

I'm not sure that is true, TRFrance. He has had no bounce or significant lead in the polls and many are asking why? Why doesn't he if he's the Messiah (lol)? KWIM?

He's still leading in the polls, even though his lead has fluctuated...
(I usually follow the one on Real Clear Politics: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epo.../national.html)
...and he still leads almost every electoral map I've seen.
(Like this one:http://www.rove.com/election)
(or this: http://www.270towin.com/)

The fact is, McCain still has to come from behind to win this. He can do it, but it's going to be an uphill climb.

I'm still not even convinced that these 2 (McCain/Obama) are the 2 best to choose from. In a nation of 300 million people, its amazing we couldn't come up with 2 better choices than these. So I still feel that whoever wins, America is in for some rough waters. I just support McCain because I think he wouldn't be as bad as Obama...

... which is kinda ridiculous when you think about it. It's like somebody making you choose between being shot or being stabbed! Either way, you know it's gonna be painful.

(Yeah, I'm a little pessimistic right now. )

Rasmussen has usually proved to be more reliable and puts Obama one point ahead today at 46%. I read somewhere that these polls are behind by three days.

Anyway, yes, you are a pessimist.

I saw something happen in this country when Kerry and Bush were in legal wranglings with the "chads". When the lawyers came together we upheld our laws that were established when this country was founded. It settled/established us back to what we stood on and for doing a service to this country. I have had hopes of many things because of that. I guess it hit me in a strong way, that we can and will prevail.

Why are you pessimistic after reading Rove's link?

"A week of the GOP convention and the Labor Day holiday made for just a few polls over the past week. The only state to change classifications was Florida, where McCain’s lead slipped within the margin of error to make the state again a toss-up. Obama continues to lead with 260 electoral votes to McCain’s 194, and 84 as a toss-up, but note that the toss-up states are still in play for McCain — only in one of them (New Hampshire) does he trail within the margin of error. Look for more dramatic changes over the next few weeks as state polls begin to take the race’s new dynamics into account."
