Christians In Denial As America Burns And Drowns

I dont understand how Christians can say the things happening to America are not the judgment of God? The Midwest breadbasket of the world has been devestated by floods. In California almost immediately upon the legalizing of "gay" marriage the fire began falling from Heaven. At last count there were over 1000 fires burning there.

I saw on the news last nite in Oklahoma they are having drought WORSE than the dust bowl of the 20th century. We have had maybe about 30 minutes of rain here in South Central Ky in about the last month.

What would it take for Christians to understand how God brings a nation low because of their sins?

Not only do I agree with you about the US being punished, but I believe the coming of the Lord is near, even in this generation. Not because of dreams, not because of prophecy, but because of the word of God.

You would think with all that is going on that the saints would
finally start to awaken ,but surprisingly, they are not.

In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evil men and imposters will go from bad to worse, decieving and beign decieved.

We(the church) are not in denial. The wide road that leds to distruction is a roaring sound and our voices are stompt on.
But instead of whinning about how the church isn't living up to your expectations, maybe you ought to get your hands dirty and pray and fast for the lost in America.

From past discussions I have had on the subject most seem to think these things are ordered of themselves. If the CHURCH is not convinced the judgment of YHWH is being poured on the USA how much less the world?

Anytime one dares to say God is punishing America in the media they are forced to immediately apologize! Yet any time "gay" is mentioned whoever it is Politicians or media figures they ALL are in one accord to make it very positive.

When God sent the flood in the Bible, wasn't it all over the Earth and everyone died, except the ones in the boat? When he destroyed S and G with fire, wasn't the whole city destroyed? I have a hard time agreeing with you, MTD, that God is judging America with all the weather events we've been experiencing. I am not trying to minimize the loss of life these weather events have caused, but I would hardly say it even comes close to being of Biblical proportions.

But God does not IMMEDIATLEY destroy nations. He warns through smaller things first to get their attention. This is what we are seeing. Just the beginning.

Just for the sake of facts though, fire didn't exactly fall from heaven, one of the most major fires in CA right now was started by an out of control camp-fire.

I'm sure God is not thrilled about what is going on down here, but we have massive wildfires in CA every summer.

Does the Bible say God allowed mini floods before the big flood came? How about with Sodom and Gomorrah? Did he send some lightening to start a few wildfires beforehand? Sorry, but I am not buying into this whole "God is judging America" business.
