I believe in being faithful to your local assembly, and I know that there is very good reasons that you have to miss from time to time...but as a Pastors wife I have heard alot of different excuses as to why so and so was going to miss Church.
I do believe I have heard the best of the best.
But I would like to hear from others what excuses they have heard or maybe even given as an excuse.

In fact I think that the insinuation of "hateful" Pentecostals is coming mostly from the fertile imaginations of bitter, backslidden ex Apostolics who are constantly trying to find a way to justify their actions. ~ strait shooter

Excuse me? We have to give excuses for missing church? I'm sorry but I have a BIG problem with that kind of control issue.
If you think there is a problem with their relationship with the Lord and that is why they are staying home, then IN LOVE approach them about that and see if there is anything you can do to help.

But to tell people that they have to give an excuse to miss church............ I'm sorry, but that kind of thing makes me crazy!
A few years ago a young boy whose parents were not real faithful as
far as coming to church on a regular basis, told the pastor after church
the following.(true story) Bro._____, I won't be here on Wed. night be-
cause I am going to be sick". There was something he wanted to do and
it fell on Wed. night. LOL!

BTW I much prefer the excuses Pastors and Pastor's wives have for missing church
