What does "Apostolic Authority" mean? How do we know when we have it?

When what we teach lines up to the writings that we have of the apostles in their intended & proper context.

Bibically, an "apostle" was a "sent" one. It is primarily a person who has been "sent" to an area by God. They are not THE apostle to an area by their own declaration. Others normally recognize an apostolic calling in an individual and give them respect.

I believe I am AN apostle in my area, but I am not THE apostle in my area.
